RAW is officially over, which means nothing else is in the way of Heatwave.  I think I'm going to rewatch last year's Heatwave. Mandy/Zoey & Santos/Tony D were awesome. |

Here are my Raw Thoughts (Along with Facts for each Match since I had time to do them):
Excellent opening segment. The crowd is awesome. It's great to see Kevin Owens back. Sami Zayn didn't have to say anything. The Judgment Day were good with the attack. I don't mind another match between Owens & Zayn & Judgment Day.
I don't care about WWE & AEW & which company sold more tickets with WrestleMania & All In London. It's cool to see that wrestling is so popular again that so many people are willing to spend their hard earned money for tickets.
Drew McIntyre & Matt Riddle VS The New Day was an incredible match, but the finish was stupid with The Viking Raiders attacking both teams, just for McIntyre to take them out on his own. FACT: This was the 1st time Drew McIntyre teamed with same person 3 times since he & Sheamus (defeated The Viking Raiders on 1/20/23 Smackdown, defeated Hit Row on 2/10/23 Smackdown, defeated Viking Raiders on 2/17/23 Smackdown) & was the 1st time Matt Riddle teamed with same person 3 times since he & Randy Orton (lost to The Street Profits on 4/18/22 Raw, defeated The Street Profits on 5/9/22 Raw), & lost to The Usos on 5/20/22 Smackdown).
Intriguing segment with JD McDonagh & The Judgment Day.
Cool video package on Shayna Baszler.
I can't wait to see John Cena back in WWE even if it's for one night on Smackdown.
Chad Gable VS GUNTHER was incredible. Normally, I don't like Count Out finishes, but it continues the story for another match between them & it gives Gable a huge win. FACT: This was Chad Gable's 3rd opportunity at a Singles Championship in his Career after a United States Championship Match (VS Kevin Owens (6/20/17 Smackdown) & a 24/7 Title Match (VS Reggie on 7/30/21 Smackdown). If Chad Gable would have won, he would have been the 3rd 1st-time Champion in a row, the 1st 2-named wrestler to be Champion since Sami Zayn in 2022, the 13th to be a former Smackdown Tag Team Champion & 1st since Shinsuke Nakamura in 2021, the 34th to be a former Raw Team Champion & the 1st since Big E in 2021, & the 3rd to be a former NXT Tag Team Champion after Luke Harper & Kofi Kingston, & the 2nd to be a former Raw, Smackdown, & NXT Champion & 1st since Kofi Kingston in 2012. This extends GUNTHER's Intercontinental Title Reign to 437 Days, which 2nd Longest Reign below HTM (6/2/87-8/28/88, 454 Days) & was his 14th Defense, which is the Most Intercontinental Championship Defenses since Shelton Benjamin who lost to Carlito on Raw on 6/20/05 in his 15th Defense. For the Record, Honky Tonk Man lost the Intercontinental Title to The Ultimate Warrior at SummerSlam on 8/29/88 ins his 34th Defense. This was GUNTHER's 4th Singles Loss in NXT UK, NXT, & WWE (Other Losses: Lost to Seth Rollins by Disqualification on 11/18/19, lost to Ilja Dragunov at Takeover: 36 on 8/22/21 & lost to Bron Breakker on NXT on 4/5/22.)

Another great promo by Cody Rhodes. I love him taking Byron Saxton out from the back to the arena. It was different. I love his shout out to Wade Barrett & Michael Cole. By the way, Barrett & Saxton on Main Event are the 1st Broadcast Team made up exclusively of Alumni of the original version of NXT.
Amazing promo by Shinsuke Nakamura. I love the reasoning for Nakamura's attack on Seth Rollins. It adds another dimension to their match at Payback.
Candice LeRae VS Rhea Ripley was way too short. I would have loved to see a longer match. Candice should be treated as an Enhancement Talent. But I love that Raquel Rodriguez is back & cleared to wrestle. The Battle of the Double R's will be great at Payback. FACT: This was Candice LeRae's 1st Singles Match on Raw since she lost to Zoey Stark on 5/22/23, her 1st match overall since the Tag Turmoil on 7/3, was the 1st time since she defeated Asuka & Akira Tozawa on 12/5/22 & 12/22/22 that Rhea Ripley wrestled 2 weeks in a row on Raw & was a re-match of 1/9/23 which was won by Ripley.
Love the promo by Tommaso Ciampa. Looking forward to seeing where it goes.
Fun promo segment with The Miz & Akira Tozawa. I'm happy that that they didn't ignore Tozawa's run as 24/7 Champion. This is the 1st ever 1-on-1 Match between them & Tozawa's 1st Raw since he lost to Dominik Mysterio on 6/26.
Akira Tozawa VS The Miz was a fun match. This was Tozawa's 4th win of 2023, as he defeated Tony D'Angelo (2/2/23), Trick Williams (3/16), & Nathan Frazer (5/11) on Main Event. It was his 1st win on Raw since he & Tamina defeated Reggie & Dana Brooke on 4/25/22 & his 1st 1-on-1 Singles win on Raw since he defeated Neville to win the Cruiserweight Title on 8/14/17.
Fun segment with Drew McIntyre, Matt Riddle, & The New Day.

Kayden Carter & Katana Chance VS Chelsea Green & Piper Niven wasn't good at all except for that cool double-team move by Kayden & Katana. FACT: This is Niven's 1st Raw since she lost to IYO SKY along with Michin on 4/10/23, her 1st overall since she def Dana Brooke on Main Event on 5/4, & the 1st time they teamed up since they lost to Asuka & Bianca Belair on Raw on 3/20.
Damn, that Kurt Angle Documentary looks incredible.
Wow. What a promo by Seth Rollins. I heard about his back injury but wasn't sure if it was real or not. I guess it is. This really sucks but I have to give him respect for wrestling these amazing matches with a bad back.
Damn, Is Vince secretly booking Raw? Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn VS The Judgment Day was just heating up when it ended with the Disqualification & then Cody Rhodes comes out & now we're getting another 6-Man Tag. FACT: This was the 1st time that Owens & Zayn teamed up since they defeated Dominik Mysterio & Damian Priest on 7/17 & was a re-match of Raw on 5/15, which was won by The Judgment Day. This was the 1st time that Owens & Zayn teamed together in Quebec since they & Jinder Mahal lost to Bobby Lashley, Roman Reigns, & Braun Strowman on 4/30/18 & their 1st ever 2-on-2 Tag Team Match in WWE in Quebec.
Though we already saw it on 6/19, Kevin Owens, Cody Rhodes, & Sami Zayn VS The Judgment Day was an excellent main event & a fun way to end the show.

Though half of the matches were re-matches & the same formula, I still enjoyed Raw as I don't mind seeing the same matches over & over. The only bad part of Raw was the trainwreck of the segment with Becky, Trish, & Zoey. Payback will be another exciting PPV.
