Here are my NXT Thoughts:
Great recap of NXT Heatwave.
The Creed Brothers VS The Dyad was fun. Brutus is a monster ripping the Cage Door off, but he could have just climbed the cage instead. BTW, I like Joe Gacy's Bray Wyatt Armband. FACT: This was The Creed Brothers' 1st match since they lost to The Dyad on 6/27 & was their 2nd Steel Cage Match in their Career & 1st since they lost to Pretty Deadly on 9/13/22 & was The Dyad's 1st Steel Cage Match in their Career.
Good video package on Roxanne Perez.
I love the NXT Global Heritage Invitational. This next month will be amazing.
Great segment with Tony D'Angelo, Channing Lorenzo, Carmelo Hayes, & the surprise of The Street Profits. The Street Profits VS The Family will be awesome if it happens. What a brawl with the women too.
Butch VS Charlie Dempsey was great, but I thought every match was Heritage Cup Rules. They are just regular wrestling matches. That's stupid. What's the point of determing the best to challenge Noam Dar for the Heritage Cup if every match is not a Heritage Cup Rules Match. But I do like that they're going to continue the Invitational on Level Up to get people to watch that. FACT: This was Butch's 1st NXT since he & Ridge Holland lost to Pretty Deadly on 10/4/22 & his 1st 1-on-1 on NXT since he lost to Carmelo Hayes on 3/1/22.
Interesting segment with Mustafa Ali & Dragon Lee.
Horrible segment with Ilja Dragunov & Meta-Four. Please do not give Lash a microphone ever again. Dragunov VS Mensah will be fun though.
OK promo by Von Wagner. I like a No DQ Match against Bron Breakker, but it should be a Table Match.
Dana Brooke & Kelani Jordan VS Elektra Lopez & Lola Vice was not good at all. Sorry. FACT: This was Jordan's 1st Tag Team Match on NXT TV & was Dana Brooke's 1st Tag Team Match on NXT since she & Emma defeated The Iiconics on 9/30/15.
Good promo by Gigi Dolin.
Great segment with Trick Williams & Carmelo Hayes. I like them not seeing eye to eye.
Eddy Thorpe VS Dijak was OK. They worked hard but I wasn't into the match. FACT: This was a re-match of NXT on 8/1/23, which was won by Dijak.
Good promo by Kiana James. She really has improved since the teen soap opera crap with Fallon Henley, & Briggs & Jensen.
OK segment with Baron Corbin & Bron Breakker.
Cool video with Los Lotharios. I'm interested in seeing where it goes. But, it looks like they lost their last names again.
Thank you WWE & their amazing production team for making me cry for the 3rd straight time showing the Bray Wyatt Tribute Video. Since this is NXT, they should have included more of his NXT stuff. But I love the Tribute.
Good video on Blair Davenport.
Cool Instagram Promo with Rhea Ripley & Dominik Mysterio. I like the idea of Ali VS Dragon Lee with Dom as Special Guest Referee.
If I would have read the rules earlier, I would have known that the Global Heritage Invitational wasn't going to be held under Heritage Cup Rules. Reading comprehension is my friend.
Nathan Frazer VS Joe Coffey was great. This was Frazer's 1st non-Heritage Cup Match since he defeated Noam Dar on 5/23. Awesome, Akira Tozawa will be on Main Event & Level Up this week.
Fun segment with Chase University, but don't know if I'm going to like what Jacy Jayne is going to do to Thea Hail.
OK segment with Fallon Henley & Myles Borne, continuing the build to Borne leaving Drew Gulak & company. But Myles already had a match on NXT. He lost to Noam Dar on 4/18/23.
Guess, it's official. We're not getting Tyler Bate VS Dabba-Kato which was scheduled for tonight. Damn, my heart is broken we didn't get to see the match tonight. But we will get it next week. I can't wait. Solid promo by Tyler Bate.
Blair Davenport VS Gigi Dolin VS Kiana James VS Roxanne Perez was a really good match with a surprising result. Well, maybe not, as the Championship Match VS Tiffany Stratton will be next week on NXT TV & not at No Mercy. Fact: This was Davenport's 2nd Fatal 4-Way & 1st since she defeated Amale, Eliza Alexander, & Isla Dawn on NXT UK on 9/1/22 UK & was Dolin, James, Perez's 1st Fatal 4-Way Match in their Career.
Interesting cliffhanger with Carmelo Hayes going into Shawn Michaels' office.

Even though I wanted her to win, I didn't expect Kiana to win, but Shawn does love doing Heel vs Heel. Gigi vs Tiffany was really bad in the tournament too, so I wonder if that's why they went with Kiana. I didn't expect them to use either Roxanne or Blair for a filler match. |
