Right before Survivor Series means all hands on deck for SD. I imagine they’re both going to toss some ridiculous stuff on tv. 😂

Never mind Smackdown! How will us Rammers possibly coexist with the Colliders? I hope Harley Cameron leads the weirdest Rampage ever as Dax looks on in despair.

they can't use Collision as pre-show to the ppv? Wouldn't that be a smarter tactic? I used to love WCW doing that.

Seems like it'd be utterly pointless for WWE to stack the show since no matter what it's going to decisively win anyway, but I'm sure they will.

And when WWF did it with Heat. Yeah I do not remember WCW doing it...Heat instantly sprung to mind When WCW aired a PPV, they usually broadcast the Sunday night show Main Event live from the same venue. Saturday Night also served as the countdown show on the rare occasion the company held a major show on that night—Hog Wild, for instance.

Collision is definitely the better option to run against Smackdown but I do not expect anything number wise showing actual competition considering it's out of it's timeslot (which is a death slot to begin with but at least it's stable)...
With that said Collision will almost certainly be a better and easier to watch show

I believe Hog Wild 1996 was the last time they did a live TBS show from the PPV venue. After that, Pro, Saturday Night, or Main Event, whichever was airing right before the PPV, would just be a normal episode with taped matches and nothing that was done live. Interestingly, the WCW Saturday Night episode that aired the night before Slamboree 1993 is on WWE Network but only contains the taped portions of the show with matches. All of the live cut-ins from a fan fest they were having for the event are missing.

they can't use Collision as pre-show to the ppv? Wouldn't that be a smarter tactic? In that scenario, they would likely need to have Collision taped given they wouldn't want to do a six hour Collision/PPV show in one day and they might be mandated to do a certain number of live episodes of Collision so they figured let's just do it Friday and have one three hour block taping. SmackDown will hurt them but it's not as if they're doing such strong numbers on Saturday that 8-10 in primetime on a Friday is significantly worse than 6-8 on a Saturday.

What years did it air? Pre-Hogan days?

I definitely remember the mid-90s era; my parents let me order one PPV a month and when I ordered a WCW show, the last half-hour of Main Event would be simulcast on the PPV channel.

Still can't remember a thing. I can obviously recall Nitro, Thunder, and Saturday Night, and to a lesser extent Worldwide.

ME aired Sunday nights on TBS from April 1988 to Aug. 1996, then moved to Saturday mornings until it was canceled in Jan. 1998 due to WCW and TBS adding Thunder to the schedule. There was also an alternate version produced for syndication for several years. It had the same graphics and theme music but different hosts, some matches that didn't air on TBS, and different commentary for the matches that had aired on TBS.

Why is full gear on the 18th and not the 19th? TK's father owns the Jacksonville Jaguars, plus TK works for the organization. Due to that, he doesn't want to run AEW events on Sundays during NFL season. I wish ALL wrestling PPVs were on Saturday tbh. I can stay up late and don't have to work early the next morning.
