Off the top of my head, it would have been Mox if a) the Nia match happened and b) Roman and Seth didn’t lobby that Shield network special to be a thing. I honestly feel that two reasons WWE hasnt been more petty is 1)Optics, both to fans and talents and 2) Triple H was in charge for a good amount of time. They were still kinda Petty with Mox aand the 500 dollars check Yeah, giving him the least they could for that final show was definitely an intentional disrespect. I still feel like, even with that one, there hasn't been anything as nakedly petty and bitter as the "Stone Cold took his ball and went home" promo in recent times, that companies kind of learned you can't unring that bell. Austin has been open about his mental health, etc, being at a major low at the time, and I mean, the domestic violence charge would suggest as much, but I still don't think any part of him, for all his times doing business with WWE after, ever fully forgave that.

My personal favourite thing about that promo burying Austin, which was absolute bullshit anyway, is that they gave it to The Rock to deliver... the Rock who had to come back early from one of his long sabbaticals to talk about how Austin is shitty for leaving, nine months before he'd basically leave the company entirely for years at a time

He was being honest at least. (Well, besides the time WWE let his contract elapse for petty reasons even though Rock was prepping for a match at WM21 but ya know...)

It was "ENIS" all over again.

One instance I remember well is the night HHH turned heel on Shawn. Early on in the show, Eric Bischoff antagonized Michaels to the point HBK walked out, with Michaels saying when it comes to his pride, Shawn Michaels always takes the high road. After that, Triple H tried to stop Shawn and told him that if he left, he'd be walking out on everyone just like Stone Cold when he took his ball and went home. But yeah, Rock got a ton of heat for that when people found out he was going to Hollywood. That reaction he got at Summerslam 2002.

I'm a big fan of Dwayne as a wrestler and as a person but I think that "Austin can take his ball and go home" promo was absolutely shitty of him. What Austin did was wrong but it's nothing to do with Dwayne and I was always disappointed that his loyalty was to Vince there and not to his friend. Or at the very least, saying absolutely nothing. A rare Dwayne misstep for me.
