I like going back to the old name. Wrestling and 3 letter company short forms just rolls off the tongue better.

Nah, they actually have competent management now. Even with competent management, why revisit such a tainted brand? 🤷‍♂️ Maybe try to get the stank off of that name.

Happy for Jordynne. But I was kind of hoping she’d challenge for a different title.
We need some fresh faces in the KO Title scene.

Was big time surprised Shelly won. Didn’t think they needed to keep the title on him this long nor do I believe Macklin should have had it taken off of him. I can understand if they want to put it on someone other than Alexander but he should have went over tonight.

Either way, great show and glad that TNA (god I love being able to say that again) upgraded production. My one complaint about Impact for really the last year had been the show just looked low rent. Everything had been great but they needed to change how they filmed and presented show

The thing with Alexander is that he’s very loyal to D’Amore. He got his visa worked out because of him and finally makes enough to support his family because of it. With two young kids and a wife also employed there…I don’t think there is much motivation for him to take on a schedule that another company would require. If he valued money above that he’d take more dates outside of Impact. He does some, obviously, but I think his priorities aren’t to work all the time. He’s very aware of his age and injuries. The Impact schedule is probably his best way to extend his career.
Moose has made the same choice a few times now too. He can work a lot longer on this schedule and that’s a bonus. The lack of travel and all the weeks off is a major benefit to some people. Alexander is definitely one of them.
if those two were going to move on…the right time was the contract before the last one they signed…not even the last one they signed.

Gotta say, there was definitely someone cutting onions during Mike's speech.

Finally was able to sit down and watch this.
Sabin vs. KENTA was fun. A good opener.
Monster's ball was crazy. I appreciated them doing the "locked in a room for 24 hours" thing. Just...mad respect to PCO for doing this shit he does at his age. Like, STILL doing the shit he does at his CURRENT age. PCO being super over made me happy too. I didn't watch Maclin's rise, so he's still kinda cold to me, but he feels like he's fallen hard since losing the title. However him vs. Bully Ray? I'd definitely check that out.
Rascalz vs. ABC was pretty much what I was hoping it would be. I think ABC are such a damn good team, and I'm glad Wentz was able to land on his feet back in Impact. Hey it was still Impact when he came back. It was during this match that the camerawork started to irritate me.
Speedball Mike Bailey vs. Will Ospreay HO. LEE. SHIT. What a f***ing match. I applauded. I stood in my room like an old dumb mark and applauded. Crowd was awake for it, both men delivered, and it was easily MOTN. I'll be showing this one to my partner.
Call Your Shot Gauntlet Marked big time for Sonny Kiss. So glad they got some shine here. Loved the crowd response, and I hope they've signed, they deserve to be featured. Hell while we're at it have the company sign Dalton Castle too. Dude is criminally underused. I love that the company does intergender stuff. I'm a big proponent of there being a place for it in wrestling if done right. Impact does it right. Sorry I'm gonna keep calling it Impact for this bit. LOVED Jordynne winning, another clapping moment, HATED that she challenged for the KO Title. Ruined what could've been something really cool.
Trinity vs. Mickie James. Clunky. I thought one of the women might have been concussed at one point b/c they just weren't kicking out. It made the ref who already looked kinda out of her element, look even worse. They made it to the end, and the finish was touching, but I had higher hopes.
Alex Shelley vs. Josh Alexander Fine wrestling match. I don't agree with Shelley winning. I thought he was losing b/c he kinda looked off when he came out. I also still don't get why you take the title off of Maclin and not build towards Maclin vs. Alexander here. Probably the only booking decision I didn't agree with. Solid match regardless.
Overall I'll give this one an 9. Best damn Impact show I've seen in a long ass time.
The card was damn good. The crowd was awake. I wish NXT felt more like this.
The negatives are the women's match, the production issues, and if they're getting a new production set-up start with firing the cameraman on the side of the ring with the entrance ramp. Dude was taking a nap leaning on the apron half the night.
I'm not a fan of the name change at all, it's pointless, and a step backwards, but I'm not factoring it into the score.
