Putting Uncharted 2 on this over 3 and 4 was the right choice. 3 and 4 are two of the most overrated games i've played.
Same with GTA5. San Andreas and 4 were better games than 3 and 5.

Honestly I've always been under the opinion the Zelda timeline is pretty much entirely something they made up so that people would stop asking for it. There are inferences you can make, like that Majora's Mask, Wind Waker, and Twilight Princess each branch off of Ocarina of Time (though MM being specifically in the same timeline as TP is kind of just completely arbitrary), Skyward Sword and then Minish Cap come first, and Link to the Past and Link's Awakening connect, but the broader thing just feels like, "We whipped this up to get people to stop asking about it." Especially when they kept waffling on where Tri-Force Heroes is when it first came out. I’ve never understood the focus on it. Felt like something they had to slap together to try and sell Skyward Sword. I don’t think it adds anything whatsoever to the franchise or any individual game so eh. I guess if it makes it more fun for the people who like it, fine, but even they don’t seem to get much enjoyment from how the series handles it.

I like all the uncharted games but I do think that 2 is the best. 4 was good but a lot of it felt like Sony is forcing us to do this at gun point. Also here's Nathan's never mentioned before scumbag brother, and adding an epilogue with and he never adventured again. they make fun of the brother bit in the spin off game with a "I don't know where he came from" line.

It also makes some complications in the earlier games, like the lack of a Master Sword in 1 and 2 despite it being key to stopping Ganon in later releases that happen before it chronologically.

Goldeneye 64 is the best.
Just the sound of putting a bullet into a scientist's head with a silenced pistol, thus failing the mission, takes me back.

I had always largely thought of the Zelda games as essentially unrelated, basically new stories where the character names are the same but essentially different universes. Then I saw they made a timeline and then I saw the timeline and wondered what the heck they'd been smoking.

Then I saw they made a timeline and then I saw the timeline and wondered what the heck they'd been smoking. Some of them did have direct connections. Adventure of link directly followed the first game. Which is why the game over screen is Ganon's resurrection. Link to the past was said to be a prequel to Loz. Links awakening was also tied to that group. Ocarina of the first that seemed to be completely unrelated. Hyrule was laid out completely differently and stuff like the kokori, gorons and fish Zoras were not in earlier games. Then Majora's mask was clearly a sequel to oot. From there the rest don't fit at all on a standard timeline

Like others said, it was basically Nintendo responding to fanboys demanding continuity for a series of LEGENDS that don’t really need a firm continuity.

Admittedly, link to the past was the first one I really played and I've missed a lot of them, so i fully acknowledge that i might not know what im talking about.. I had heard majora's mask was a sequel to ocarina of time. Not sure about the rest. I think in my mind they occupied a space similar to final fantasy where up until a certain point, all those games were stand alone.

I think in my mind they occupied a space similar to final fantasy where up until a certain point, all those games were stand alone. There are a few explicit connections, but it varies. Top of my head... - Skyward Sword presents itself as the earliest, backed up by it loosely adapting the events of the opening of Minish Cap which itself is indicated to be before the rest of the series and before Four Swords and Four Swords Adventures in particular. - Majora's Mask, Wind Waker, and Twilight Princess are all explicitly sequels to Ocarina of Time, but other than one kiiiiiinda thing in Twilight Princess involving Skull Kid that might link it back to Majora's Mask don't necessarily connect to each other in any way, with TP and WW in particular actively contradicting each other. - Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks are both direct sequels to Wind Waker, with ST taking place after PH and WW and PH having the same Link. - Link's Awakening between how it opens and several other nods stars the same Link as Link to the Past. - Zelda 2 is explicitly a sequel to Zelda 1. And those are about it in terms of direct connections that I can recall offhand. It's really less of a Final Fantasy thing and more of a Fire Emblem thing, where there are various sub-continuities rather than it being a clean break every time. If I were to break it down they sort to something like... - Skyward Sword pretty much standalone as the precursor to everything. - Minish Cap, Four Swords & Four Swords Adventures - Ocarina of Time & Majora's Mask - Ocarina of Time & Twilight Princess - Ocarina of Time, Wind Waker, Phantom Hourglass & Spirit Tracks - Link to the Past & Link's Awakening - The Oracle games - Breath of the Wild & Tears of the Kingdom - Zelda 1 & Adventure of Link Link Between Worlds and Tri-Force Heroes pretty much exist as standalones.

Wow, that's a fantastic rundown of it all. Also, that is freaking bonkers. It's really bonkers until you realize how little the relationships between events is even mentioned. Like, Majora's Mask has an opening cut scene that picks up after the end of Ocarina, but that's pretty much it. The manual for Awakening mentions Link left Hyrule following Link to the Past. Link's Adventure is interesting in that the manual has a lot of interesting story tidbits that ultimately don't matter. It gives a reason for every princess being named Zelda, for example. Retroactively they've tried to make these things more important, but it rarely amounts to much.

With Fire Emblem, the first five games of the series all take place in the same world, though Genealogy of the Holy War and Thracia 776 take place on an entirely different continent than the first three. And Awakening takes place in the same continent as the first three but in the distant future. Then you had later games introducing that all the different worlds from other games are in a shared universe. And then Heroes introduced a multiverse, though it's mostly used to justify gacha summons of alternate versions of characters.

Link Between worlds and a Link to the Past are connected, Hyrule's map is the same, and I think it's at least implied that Lorule is the Dark World. When it came out Link to the Past was stated to be in the same time line as the Original 2 as well.
