Going to stand up for him a little on the Hawaii fires. That he asked others to give doesn’t mean he didn’t give anything himself. He and Oprah gave a combined $10 million! Could it have been more? Sure, but how much is he supposed to give to a place he owns a vacation home? It’s really only in the last year I’ve seen people react to celebrities asking for donations with “why don’t YOU just give them all your money?!” Sign of the times, but I don’t like people being this cynical. From what I understand the backlash wasn't just 'how dare the rich people ask us to help others'. They had hired private fire fighting forces to ensure their vacation homes were unscathed because they knew this disaster was coming, while communication to the general populace was lackluster. Rock is getting some heat but I think most of the ire is pointed at Oprah who is a billionaire and could afford to handle most of the reconstruction with little to no effect on her day to day life.
That combined with people feeling the squeeze as the price of everything has gone up thanks to every company abusing the post covid conditions and yeah, people are gonna look sideways at rich celebs who managed to keep their vacation homes pristine while the rest of the island burned but who now want everyone else to pitch in.
The fact that he pitched in some money is nice, and Rock certainly has nowhere near the money that Oprah does. I suspect a lot of the most angry may not realize they gave money.

He’s taking a lot of heat over his rather tone deaf messages asking people to raise money after the fires in Hawaii. This is on top of the status of the XFL and the box office disappointment of Black Adam. How can things get any worse for him in the remainder of this year? 1. He gets hit with a lawsuit because The Rock is copyrighted, he’ll now be known as The Pebble 2. He gets a paper it. Because paper beats rock. 3. His next project is a Disney+ streaming show and he’s got no way out. Keep it going. . Been waiting for that Tooth fairy series...Better have a Larry the Cable Guy cameo

He steps in a big pile of dog poop. Worse: Davey-boy's ghost rock bottoms him into said dog poop Suddenly, Michael Cole randomly yells "The dog poop! The dog poop!".

He tries to bring in all the groceries at once from the car because he doesn't want to make two trips but realizes that he can't carry everything and will in fact have to make two trips.

He steps on a LEGO piece.
Too harsh?
Then he stubs his pinky toe on the coffee table getting off the couch.

He dreams all day of a delicious meal, but when he makes it it has just a little too much salt.
Not enough salt to not eat it, but too much salt to totally enjoy it either.

The store ran out of the brand name pancake batter for his Cheat Day and he’s stuck with the cheap knock off box.

I believe what a person gives to charity is a person's own business and no one else's. I don't believe Dwayne did anything wrong but he did say he was giving millions of dollars to help actors during the strike but when it came to the victims of the Maui fires he asked others to give. He probably did give money himself and I believe his heart was in the right place he just didn't use his best judgement.

Never help anyone but yourself, in 2023 no good deed goes uncontroversially. Help an old lady across the street, and motherf***ers will be on X bitching about how it’s ageism that you assumed she needed help, or that you didn’t ask for her permission to link arms and thus it’s unwanted touching, or some other bullshit. Somebody somewhere is just waiting to bitch about everything you do if you’re in the public eye
