No matter what the legality was, it seems like the story is Regal went to Tony while his mother was in the hospital and used that situation to convince Tony to let him out of his contract early so he could spend more time with his son in NXT while he still had the chance. He then took a job with WWE on the road as opposed to working in Orlando. I'm sorry but if he's upset about that, he just gonna have to charge that to the game and I ain't talking HHH. You had an all time great wrestling mind and insisted on using him primarily in an on-screen role amongst a roster that routinely refuses the advice of vets. Two things can be true. Regal approached dude at a tender time resulting in TK giving an answer he might not have given otherwise. AND there's no real good look to keeping a dude under contract when his reasoning for wanting to jump ship is "my f***ing kid is over there" when you yourself are very obviously underutilizing the talent cuz you had a specific role for them and don't want to pivot.

I did not get a response to my query about Mario 64 DS.
If Mothman dies, he dies. I hold the rest of you responsible.
Sidenote, I've been a member almost 18 years and still don't know how to link other posters in the body of a message.

Legal or not, I can see why TK took that personally. Handle it wrong? Sure.
But that was a garbage move from WWE, in the midst of multiple garbage moves they've done toward AEW via proxies.

This has come up before, and I know Mothman's board life is hanging in the balance, but I have to ask again: Is there any proof of this, at all, beyond CM Punk's babytantrum and notorious reliable source Konnan's podcast? If so, can someone point me in the direction because I've never been able to find it.

Hangman is also a 15 year veteran of the industry. Regal's a great wrestling mind, but just because a lot of AEW's roster hasn't been on national American TV regularly doesn't mean it's full of rookies either. And it's not like Regal is the only great, older wrestling mind they had at the time. There's Arn Anderson, Dean Malenko, Chris Daniels, Jericho, Sting, etc. They weren't under any obligation to seek Regal out specifically and I think the whole thing about "not listening to veterans" is pure bullshit.

Well, he kind of said that at Galaxycon when he was more or less in character as aloof anxious millennial cowboy, but earlier this year after shit with Punk had well and truly hit the fan, and after Konnan got on one about the AEW roster not respecting Regal or whatever, he released a statement on IG: The reports that I ‘don’t take advice’ have been greatly exaggerated, perhaps by no one more so than me. Advice and feedback, particularly from those who have come before, have always been and always will be welcomed and appreciate. My self-deprecating and dry insistence otherwise just comes from a place of being more personally interested in wrestling as an art than a sport. It would’ve been hollow for Picasso to try to paint a Mona Lisa. I kinda thought I’d have been asked about it by now and could’ve clarified. I just wouldn’t want any of the older generation, especially those whose work with us is vital and unknown to fans, to feel that their wisdom is dismissed. I am also still in search of the cheese puffs. Let me know if you find them. Thank you. Just weird to me that there seems to be a "THE AEW ROSTER f***ING HATES VETERANS!!!!!!!" narrative when, like, Sting, Chris Jericho, Christian, Billy Gunn, Christopher Daniels, Dustin Rhodes, the Hardyz, Lance Archer, the Big Show, and others I'm probably forgetting have all worked there for years with no known issues.

Yeah, I don't get this idea that people don't listen to veterans. AEW has always seemed to be a very self-sufficient locker room where people have their own ways of doing things, so wrestler A will go to veteran A but not veteran B. Sure, some people didn't go to Punk or Regal. Just like some other people probably did go to Punk or Regal but didn't go to Dustin Rhodes or Jerry Lynn.

So he really just negotiated for Khan to let him out two months earlier.

Yes, which makes you wonder why he seemingly either lied or grossly misrepresented himself to Tony just to get out of his contract a few months early.

So, we have Billy Gunn saying that, in his opinion, the roster "doesn't take full advantage" of learning from veterans, Blanchard saying that no one ever specifically asked him for advice backstage, Regal more or less saying that people did ask him for advice backstage but he felt it was disingenuous, and an out-of-context Jake podcast quote where he was talking explicitly about people "not listening to him," in general terms, regarding fast-paced matches not having enough psychology.
None of that equates to "a roster that routinely refuses the advice of vets," to me. There's been some people who have, largely in dicta during podcast appearances, said that they feel like the roster could possibly take better advantage of the veteran resources available on AEW's roster, but this notion that the AEW roster, at large, has some kind of active animosity towards veterans and outright ignores their advice "routinely" seems a little ridiculous to me.

I have no idea what this thing isn’t even about anymore or it’s overall purpose so screw it, I’m locking it.
