Everyone always has the debates about the GOAT or your mount rushmore of the 4 greatest ever in company history.
But let's give some love to mid-carders. These guys may have won a world title and had brief runs in the main event, but their career is widely defined more as a mid carder. Or just who only stayed in the mid-card and helped make that division feel bigger, sometimes with the assistance of the IC or US belt.
Here's my four who I would consider the greatest WWE mid-carders in history:
1. Razor Ramon - He was THE mid-carder of the New Generation. 4-time intercontinental champion. Held the title each year from 1993-1996.
2. Chris Jericho. Yeah, he had runs as a world champion. But I always found his niche as the 9 time Intercontinental Champion. He was a very great mid-carder. When I think attitude and ruthless aggression era, the first guy I think of for mid-card is Y2J.
3. The Miz. Another guy who may have had a world title run. But his career screams mid-card and there's nothing wrong with that. One of the best mid-carders ever.
4. Mr. Perfect/Dolph Ziggler. These guys worked a similar style. They made mid-card matches feel big. The brought the workrate for the IC title. They defined mid-card for their eras. They are so similar that I would have to give them a tie. Them going up against a world champion also made the match feel big, albeit, they had no chance at w world title for the most part. I know Dolph was a WHC, but he was just more natural as that IC/US guy.

Asuka - My favorite wrestler ever. I know someone will chime in and say she has too many accolades to be considered a mid-carder, but, she's never presented as the main character (with the brief exception of the lockdown era). Often the 3rd, 4th, or even 5th wheel in the stories, even when she's the champion.
Chris Jericho - as stated above.
Kane - Was briefly a champ, but was really the mid card monster.
Rey Mysterio - Another who was briefly champion, but was mostly mid-card.
Recency bias makes me want to say Gunther, but he's still relatively new and may have main event-er in his future.

Rick Martel 123 Kid/X-Pac D-Lo Brown Santino Marella
Runners up are "Ravishing" Rick Rude, Goldust, Mr. Perfect, Shelton Benjamin, Brutus "the Barber" Beefcake, Carlito, Mark Mero, Finlay, One Man Gang, Razor Ramon, Tatanka, MVP, William Regal, Crush, Billy Gunn, Bam Bam Bigelow, Owen Hart, Hercules and Ken Shamrock.
I could honestly go through again and disqualify some of these guys for main eventing some of the bigger events, but I tried to stay away from anyone who was a World champion, or was in the Big 4, but also had *some* success.

I had Perfect and Razor in my head before I looked at what anyone else had. Man, this is tough. You could make a case for so many people.
I'll add Jake Roberts and Hacksaw Jim Duggan.
Narrowly missing: - Jeff Jarrett (you could argue his WCW and TNA stuff made him less midcard and more main event, but to me, he's always IC-level Double J/Don't Piss Me Off) - Chris Jericho - Tito Santana - Billy Gunn - Greg Valentine

Razor Ramon Brutus Beefcake Jake Roberts Mr. Perfect
These guys were stuck in mostly the mid-card, but won a lot of their matches, which is why I picked them over say a Tito Santana who had some early success as the I-C champ and as part of Strike Force, but was basically a jobber to the stars the last part of his WWF career.

Ricky Steamboat Goldust/Dustin Rhodes Owen Hart Jake Roberts
Edit as I saw this is wwe only, if it isn't then these two below instead of owen and jake.

This was a really interesting topic to think about. Mr. Perfect, Razor Ramon, Christian, Rob Van Dam and Jeff Hardy are ones that come to mind for me.
Chris Jericho is an interesting case but at the end of the day, the guy had a WrestleMania main event under his belt, two other World Title WrestleMania matches plus numerous main event matches on PPVs throughout his career. There were definitely some moments where he found himself slotted in that middle of the card role, but I tend to think he's closer to a career main event guy than he is a midcard guy.

I'd like to think I'm on the FAN Mount Rushmore of midcard posters. One of whom eroded suspiciously well into a perfect copy of Max Landis's face, only for it to be heavily smashed and defaced in the night by protestors
