2004 was a year where people didn't know racism was bad yet please be understanding Ah yes, the simpler times of 2004 when Kenzo Suzuki nearly debuted as a character who was the grandson of Emperor Hirohito seeking revenge on all Americans until he explained how offensive it would be to people in Japan. Best picture award winner Crash only got its full release in the US in 2005, until that movie came out to tell us racism wasn't good, we just did stuff like that.

Not sure I would use a guy who once said the n-word on a live stream as the voice of reason here. Oh shit. I was not aware of that. Lemme take the post down right now then. Thank you very much for the headsup. F*** Randy. And f*** Carlito too. And so did Rhea Rhipley. Someone pointed it out, called them out, they apologized and life moved on. And those are way worse things to say. Some people here with the pitchforks and wanting heads to roll for something would be worked out with “hey thats not cool, dont do that again”.

If I were Iyo and Kairi I would consider leaving for sure as they have to deal with this crap far to often and its funny how it's always WWE who do this crap. You would never see AEW doing this.

As the local historian of things Rhea Ripley probably shouldn't have said while on stream with Mace & Manny, it definitely was not the n word 💀

I remember when Triple H dressed up/played an Asian man with an accent and everything.

We can at least get the slurs people said on livestreams right if we're going to try and moralize about how people are reacting to it

I’m going to need an itemized breakdown of what my appropriate level of outrage should be for each specific level of racism. What level of racism goes beyond “hey that’s not cool”? Just want to know for sure.

Incredibly stupid and tone deaf, no reason for it whatsoever. That shit is just not acceptable, whether it's 2004 or 2024. How do you f*** up just being the comedic relief that carries an apple?

Even if he didn't intend for it to be racist, it was racist. There should be repercussions, it's really not all that hard. Talent should get an apology, Carlito should be removed from TV for a bit if not outright canned. You have to be pretty dumb to try and ad-lib that line in any time period, not just today.

This is the type of thing that you read and think, "This is so stupid and absurd — even for wrestling — that this can't possibly have happened," and then finding out that in fact almost did. Yeesh!
It's like reading a news headline that sounds so ludicrous that it's like something from The Onion...then finding out that it's in fact NOT from The Onion. I remember when Triple H dressed up/played an Asian man with an accent and everything. I hope at the next press conference someone asks him about his experience playing Dr. Hung Lo Speaking of things I wish were made up... I had no memory of this, but in fairness, there were multiple periods where I stopped watching WWE, starting...strangely during the Attitude Era. I don't recall when exactly, but I had no memory of things like Katie Vick, or Billy & Chuck either. I just looked up the Dr. Hung Lo thing and...oh no, oh dear, and also yikes! As for Carlito, you sir are a...

How does this pass everyone in the production? Wasn't that a pretaped segment? If Carlito (and/or the writer) goes, then whoever gave that a thumbs up should go. What the f***?

The whole thing is baffling to me. Triple H has been involved in multiple, multiple, multiple race baiting angles, moments and scenes. He has also never, in real life or in-universe, been punished for it. For a guy who's gone out of his way to prop himself up to his corporate overlords. The "Triple H" Era and Paul Levesque Era stuff and all that. This is a guy that is concerned about his employment and so he does unsubtle things like use commentary to talk about how none of this boom period stuff would happen without him. So, with all that in mind, why would he even roll the dice on this stupid line? All it takes is one journalist to go, "Huh, that was weird. Let me just Google Triple H and see- and there's the blackface." It costs you zero dollars to shut the f*** up with unfunny race jokes, Hunter. Try it. I mean why not roll the dice when you've never gotten any tangible punishment for it? Dude's never really been punished for it, and it's not like bad taste segments were ever what took Vince down. I bring this up every time he says something stupid at a media event, but he's now working for the ownership that's been letting Dana White off his leash for an eternity. Unless he's secretly mega racist and gets Donald Sterling-ed, nothing is gonna come of this, so he can keep using commentary to puff up his worth and his ego, keep taking selfies with wrestlers, and it won't matter. The one-day anger of yet another awful bad taste comment will never reach a point where it'll matter, especially when enough people will consistently go "this doesn't matter" and drown that out. That sucks, this guy's a bitch! He can write a good wrestle sometimes, but he's a bitch.
