I'm sad we're not getting our Joshi triple threat at WM. Or, perhaps, ever. After this is over, I think IYO is doomed. She'll be kicked right back down to complete irrelevance. It feels like we are at a changing of the guard, but IYO is not part of that.
If they can't give her any attention in this huge 2 year long story, I doubt they ever will. Even if IYO wins at Wrestlemania, I feel she'll still be treated like she's just keeping the belt warm.
Asuka and Kairi are being dragged down by the completely dead tag team division.
They can always fix things with a few matches and segments, but I have my doubts.
Maybe we can get a Battle of the Moonsaults Triple threat. IYO vs Tiffy vs Ivar  This seems overly pessimistic given that they are involved in the hottest angle on Smackdown at the moment and that they are all champions. |

There is quite a bit to comb threw but interestingly enough just off quick observing of the backstage segment.
Most notably is how IYO did not shy away from Jade she stepped right to her....something main roster IYO hasn't done unless it was against a face who had no shot at beating her.
But also this tease puts into question something I was sure of after the in ring stuff that had concluded that IYO was dropping the title to Bayley...which I think will still happen but this segment puts it into a little doubt like would they have IYO win and then go into a feud with Jade...and maybe pivot Bayley and Bianca to face KAIRI AND Asuka for the womens tag titles.

I'm just wondering what even the point was. Dakota betrayed Bayley so that, um, they could do like two moves to her then pose with the belt. Not only could that have happened without her but it wasn't even really a beatdown.

Not only could that have happened without her but it wasn't even really a beatdown. It's kind of insane how much more Bayley has gotten from this feud than the rest of Damage CTRL has. I have no clue who is booking this feud, but it's doing the group no favors at all. If Iyo loses at Wrestlemania, it'll basically cement Iyo, Dakota, Kairi, and Asuka as massive losers who shouldn't be taken seriously. Not that it wasn't the case before, but it'll be even worse considering you can probably count on two hands (you might need to break out the toes idk) how many matches Bayley has won last year. |

Dakota either turned here to basically ensure Bayley wins at Mania....not that she did not have a chance before. Or Dakota turned at Mania thus basically ensuring IYO retained. I think the better story would have been the latter and not because IYO would have retained but because I think have Dakota slowly week after week get Bayleys trust and make it all the more heartbreaking that at Bayleys finest hour just as she is about to win on the biggest stage it is snatched from her by the one woman she not only vouched for to bring back to the company and not only was her original first choice for Dmg Cntrl but the one woman that she felt she could have trusted in the here and now. It would be everything finally coming to a head for all the bad she had done...everyone turns on her and she gets her moment taken from her on the biggest stage. That is a far better story that they have abandoned now. |

Another thing to note is that WWE outright titled a clip "Jade Cargill comes face-to-face with IYO SKY" on their YT page. I don't think a Bayley/Jade feud would be a good idea, which is why I'm hesitant on making Iyo look any weaker than she already is, on top of Bayley clowning on all of them with minimal effort going by tonight. It was basically a 1v2 with Bayley not sweating the Kabukis at all until Dakota betrayed her.

Both Wade and Graves despite being heel color commentators were like "Yeah this is awful, Damage CTRL are snakes!!!" instead of having at least one member of their team rooting them on. It's jarring and not great.

A sketch as it sounds I think this is why we have not heard much of explanation for any of this from Dmg Cntrls end other than the pre-tape they did like 2 weeks ago. |
