If CM Punk's initial injury timeline is accurate, it would have him returning around late June or early July. If that remains the case, then they have to pull the trigger on a Punk-McIntyre match at SummerSlam. The feud will presumably still be red hot, and why wait around another nine months to delay the inevitable just to hold it at WrestleMania? one of the biggest issues of the earlier "Era" was that they only did big important things at Mania... hell it even had that issue in the New Generation and it's what sunk Lex Luger. The current administration is not immune to that, either. Jimmy Uso vs. Jey Uso became a full-blown rivalry at SummerSlam last year. They were separated by Jey moving to Raw, but it was restarted with them as nos. 1 and 2 in the Royal Rumble. For as heatless as that feud was, the only reason they held off on a blow-off match was because WrestleMania was around the corner. The same can be said for AJ Styles vs. LA Knight. Those two first got into it last December, and the crowds never really got behind it. Sometimes you've just got to rip off the band-aid instead of waiting for a "WrestleMania moment."

Isn't this how it is with Punk though? He's on his best behavior then it all falls apart? AEW period definitely but other than that he left WWE because of his health after a 9 year spell and before than was with ROH and IWA MS consistently, never really bought it being some repeat pattern of hostility that's like working with volatile chemicals or something

wait sorry he QUIT!!! IWA MS for a year or so because Ian brought in Nick Gage who at the time had recently treated Hero and a few others like shit so he missed a lot of 2003 hence the commentary that year not being as good

This whole talk that CM Punk is always unprofessional is stupid. Yes, he was unprofessional at AEW, but lots of wrestlers seems unprofessional there, and it's not the norm for CM Punk.
