Cody couldn't/wouldn't get him a job in the WWE and nobody else wanted to push QT like QT wants to be pushed.

At any rate, QT was respected and valued backstage in the early AEW days long before he was tapped to start filling in on shows in the pandemic era. If he can do his job and his ego's back in check, he'll probably do well in the role again.

I feel like thats a dangerous decision when AEW is finally hitting its stride and identity back. This slightly worried me too but it depends how much influence you think he has really. Would be more worrying if they were hiring him and briefing they now agree with his vision. But they're basically saying the opposite, that he's now conforming to theirs, can't see him managing to talk everyone round and have them do what he wants to do creatively instead tbh.

I don't have the venom a lot of people have for the guy around here. I am sure he probably COULD have gotten booked other places, but maybe he had a reality check that, at his stage in his life, he wasn't going to be a big power player anywhere, and that AEW is probably the best fit for him if his career is sunsetting. Exactly. It’s not like other jobs, he can’t shop around a resume when he’s under contract. He had no way of knowing one way or the other what his prospects were elsewhere without leaving the company. And he was smart enough to do so in a way where he can easily come back. Sometimes the grass ain’t greener, I’ve had it happen before a few times. Get sick of a place, quit and go somewhere else, realise shit wasn’t so bad at the old place and negotiate a return that addressed some of the concerns that caused me to leave.

I do wonder if he had talks with NWA, he could potentially have fit there.

I goof on the guy, but he is a local so I do have some weird sort of affection for him. Like if I randomly saw him somewhere I could say "Jersey Freeze f***ing rules!" and he'd know what I'm talking about.

in the early days of AEW Cody valued him so highly in the backstage role of helping him with his EVP role that QT wasn't allowed to wrestle
I think this speaks volumes about how good QT can be backstage

Look, I'm probably QT's biggest hater on here. I'll continue to push forward so that one day he'll learn that I'm his number 1 hater. But in all seriousness, it sounds like he ate some humble pie. Hopefully he gets put on ROH duty to help with some of the younger guys because it seems he does have a knack for talent development and people do seem to like him in the role he was in.
But back on goofing...
QT: Hear me out HHH.... QTV on Raw! I'll attach myself to an upcoming hoss and he'll help me win the IC belt and we'll produce hilarious TMZ parodies on Raw AND SD!!
A few days later:
QT: Huh. He left me on read. Must be waiting for the contract offer to come through!

Can't find anything concrete but I heard SRS mention it on his stream but seems to be soemthing to QT starting up/taking over Turnbuckle Championship Wrestling (Dusty's old fed I guess his daughter owns the rights) so wonder if it becomes an official developmental and the Monster Factory becomes an AEW official school

We're ragging on the guy but honestly if he realised he was wrong, fair play to him. God knows there's there's not enough of that going around. The apology needs to be as loud as the disrespect.

We're finally starting to get more than one women's match a show, keep Mr. Ratio the hell away from them.
Also, TIL that dude's only five days older than I am. With how long he's been around wrestling, I figured he'd be older.

"You're gonna eat shit and beg Tony Khan for your old job?"

Eh, my thinking is that just the fact that he left over all that stuff to begin with is sort of a sign to keep a leash on him. It’s really his burden now to show that he can fit in the environment and contribute. Or. He comes back and they let him rewrite every single show.

Good that he's on board because the wrestling has been way better since he left lol I thought he was fine as a midcard talent, he can work really REALLY well with young talent and that should be where he is like, ROH TV Title territory, but I hope he's good where he is
