::sigh:: I honestly don't know.
As I've said before, both companies should be focusing on their younger talent, not 40-something ROH cast-offs that are trying to live up to their promise from twenty years ago. At the same time MJF's reign has gone on too long and is really stagnant. Despite being in like a half dozen feuds, everything he does just feels like a holding pattern until Adam Cole is ready to return. So a title switch would definitely freshen things up and feel like meaningful story progression. And, as much as I hate to say it, Joe has been really good playing his part lately.
Ideally though I'd prefer AEW throw a curveball and give the belt to someone like Swerve or Darby Allin.

only if there's some kind of long-term plan for who comes next, I like Joe but I don't need the belt to become something that gets passed around vets just because of their name value.

I think Swerve should be the one to dethrone MJF - BUT I'll never argue against a Joe title reign in any capacity.

Yes. That title needs to be off of MJF ASAP.

Give him the belt at some point, sure - hope he doesn't vacate it!
But I've been advocating for Swerve to take it from MJF from a very early stage

I’d have Joe beat MJF at World’s End, then have him drop it to Swerve at Revolution (or Double or Nothing at the latest).

Yes. Massacre MJF at Worlds End in the style of Brock beating Cena at Summerslam 2013.
Go on 2 month run of wrecking dudes, beating people senseless, bringing some shine back to the AEW World Title.
Drop belt to Swerve at Revolution.

While I do want Swerve to be World Champion, Joe shouldn't choke in another World title match again, so he needs to beat MJF at Worlds End.

Yes. He would work for several reasons.
- He was already beaten by MJF. So he wouldn't be a vet squashing an up and comer. - MJF could easily get another match against Joe down the line. Making this a type of best two out of three of both their careers. - Joe is credible as a champion. He's a big violent guy who is also a strategist. - He works as transitional champion since it wouldn't look like a star on the rise having a reign cut short.
Joe feels like one of the few talents on the roster who most of this would apply to. Also, my own personal reason: I feel like this would sort of make up for him being constantly screwed out of the title in TNA just to appease Kurt Angle (f*** dixie carter).

I'd like a few shorter title reigns to freshen things up and make it unpredictable.
Not every title reign needs to be 6 months to a year.

It frustrated me to no end that when they finally DID put the TNA title on him, and even gave him what was to that point the longest reign in TNA history... they booked him like shit. His PPV/title matches always delivered and would get the crowd back on his side, but you could tell they hated how he was being used.

The answer is always yes, but especially if it puts an end to this f***ing title reign.

Should one of the most undeniably compelling guys in all of wrestling get a top billed spot?
Hmm, lemme think about that...

I think it should be either Swerve or Cole to end MJF's reign, but I do like the idea of Joe as champ the more I think about it. Samoa Joe just seems to get better and better the older he gets. Sure, he can't go like he used to but his character work is so dialed in it compensates and then some

Yes.
No more MJF cringe bullshit in the mains please.
Though it would be hilarious to have two dumbass wrestlers give up their belts only to end up empty handed at the same time.

Absolutely. This title reign desperately needs to just end already, it'd allow the Devil storyline to get the hell to the point already, it'd make Joe vacating the TV title less stupid, and I really just don't especially care about Swerve anyway.

I’m all for having Joe beat MJF for World Title. AEW setting up a big time feel match between Joe & Swerve in couple of months would be glorious. Swerve winning the title off of Joe in a violent massive match is the correct call in my opinion. Swerve vs Osprey at All-In with Osprey as a temporary face would break all records from last year. Save the Swerve vs MJF for later….a match that with the right build would go down as a classic.
