The fact that Eddie nearly chose to retire a few years ago really makes you appreciate all of his success lately. I saw him leading a midcard heel group in EVOLVE in front of 200 people before the pandemic. Can't believe that was nearly the end. Kingston debuting on Dynamite was one of my favorite AEW moments ever. I was cooking up a steak for dinner, and all of a sudden I hear a familiar voice with a thick New York accent. I come into the living room, and to my joy it's Eddie Kingston with a mic in his hand. That moment I realized that this wasn't just a throwaway TNT title match on Dynamite, this was one of the hardest working men in wrestling FINALLY getting his due. But I didn't realize this was going to be the beginning of one of the greatest career turnarounds in the history of Professional Wrestling. LONG LIVE THE KING! |
