Kinda surprised by this, unless WWE backed the truck right up and offered something that AEW flat out couldn’t have. Cody’s a smart dude, you’d think he’d want to milk free agency
EDIT: I did think before hand that Cody was in NY for the long haul, I’m just shocked he re-upped this far before his contract was due up

If it’s true it’s totally deserved & not a surprise at all. He’s been fab since his return & has come off like a total mega star both in & out of the ring. Only way I can see him leaving in the next few years is if he goes into film or tv.

I was sceptical about Cody to WWE but he's really well suited there. I enjoy him much more than I did in AEW.
Now they need to stick the landing at Mania 40.

While I don't see it happening, you really can't dismiss the possibility that AEW will become such a drain on Khan family finances that Shahid Khan has to step in and tell Tony to wrap things up, similar to what happened with TNA, Dixie and Panda Energy. And without the Khan money, there's no way that AEW can continue to operate anywhere near the level they're operating on right now. |

Cody is such a WWE character that he’d actually feel out of place he went back to AEW. Hell he felt out of place while he was in AEW for his final few months there. I think he’s WWE for the long haul, at least for the rest of his prime years.
