Definitely more fresh matches for Mone in AEW than WWE. Just hopefully they increase the number of segments featuring women on Dynamite and also increase their importance. Otherwise you’ll either have Mone cycling in and out like the other talent, diminishing her importance, or you’ll have her on Dynamite every week at the expense of the rest of the division.

If Tony is seemingly going to make her one of the highest paid people in the company, I would hope he actually has plans to put a lot more effort into the woman's division.

Would be a nice boost, if she's coming, for her to come in ASAP after a bit of a flat PPV (fair amount of which was out of AEW's control but still). Feels like we'll get a bit of a reset all round with the C2, which has been dominating shows, having ended, the Bucks hopefully coming back soon to refocus the tag division and the big storyline with the devil having had a resolution, and a new World Champion, having Mercedes come in and totally shake up the women's division too would really add to that.

She should come in as Mariah May’s mystery opponent, beat her and start a feud with Storm for the world title immediately. She can win it on a Dynamite between now and Revolution.

Considering the recent bad vibes around the company, it should help.

It’s almost as if people comment on AEW women’s division who actually don’t watch AEW.
The women’s division has seen a big change in investment from TK here in last 8 weeks.
But I guess it’s just easier and cooler to dump all over AEW no matter what it does.

One match, and some quick backstage interviews. It’s a pattern that hasn’t been broken, even if the quality of that small time varies and sometimes is at a high. And I watch Dynamite every week. The time allotted and spotlight put on the division is what needs to change, and hopefully signing Mone helps spur that change.

When I mean plans, I mean actually having 2 woman's matches on Dynamite/Collision and actual in ring promos/angles on a semiregular basis.....basically they be given a lot more time than they are now. Have things improved?? Yes, but there's still a long way to go.
Where have I dumped all over AEW?? all anyone has been talking about for years is how Tony needs to do a lot better. Hopefully this move is what causes even more changes.

The women's division has improved over the last couple of months but it still hasn't improved enough are two statements than can both be true at the same time.
There's definitely been a push to showcase more women and both the world title and TBS title are in great positions right now. It's still generally just one match a show though and that needs sorting out.

More matches and more in-ring extended promos/angles is what is needed. If it doesn’t happen with Mone coming in, it’s fair to question if it ever will. She immediately vaults into one of the top 5 stars of the company.

There's been improvements but they need to be consistent. They had 3 matches at World's End (2 main card + 1 pre-show) that all got a good amount of time. A recent Collision had two matches and more segments. They're good steps forward, especially compared to just a few months ago where All In only had a single match. However, those things also need to become more the rule than the exception. Guess we'll see how that goes.

I always have this thought about her.
The best thing about Mercedes...is Mercedes
The worst thing about Mercedes...is Mercedes and her mental ward of fans and considering Mercedes herself never seems to reign them in or try to then may as well get the muffins now.

This would be the first legit female superstar they have signed, so Id imagine there will be alot of woman in WWE watching closely how they handle Mercedes, because if they see a real change in direction it will make them consider signing for AEW when their contracts are up.
This is the type of signing that needs to be treated on the level of Punk and pushed majorly from the off.
One thing I'm potentially not looking forward to is a lot of her crazy fanbase on social media suddenly starting to watch AEW.......

She would honestly be the biggest signing since Punk. I don' know if she'd have the same effect on ratings/merch/tickets/PPV buys but I think it would be a great get and a bigger deal than Copeland, Jay White, etc. The women’s division still gets a measly amount of time on TV and her star power would hopefully force that to change. The women's ring time still averages around 7-8 minutes every show. Outside of matches top women’s feuds are often built up with quick backstage segments while top men’s feuds are built up with big in-ring promos/segments. They hardly ever get the key spots on shows (main event, opening, top of the 9pm hour). There’s signs that things are getting better on PPV though. Final Battle was the ROH PPV with the most women’s ring-time this year and Worlds End was the same for AEW. Here’s the full 2023 ring-time numbers for PPVs from WWE/NXT/AEW/ROH/Impact/NWA/MLW: {Spoiler}{Spoiler}WWE Royal Rumble - 68:43 WWE Survivor Series - 42:50 WWE Wrestlemania night 1 - 38:15 NWA 75th Anniversary night 1 - 37:31 WWE Payback - 37:20 NXT Deadline - 36;27 ROH Final Battle: 31:10 WWE Night of Champions - 31:00 NWA 312 - 30:09 Impact Hard to Kill - 28:43 WWE Summerslam - 28:23 WWE Crown Jewel - 27:40 WWE Money in the Bank - 27:05 NWA 75th Anniversary night 2 - 26:37 NXT Stand & Deliver - 25:43 WWE Backlash - 25:10 WWE Wrestlemania night 2 - 24:30 NXT Vengeance Day - 24:02 NXT Great American Bash - 23:34 Impact Slammiversary - 23:29 AEW Worlds End - 23:15 AEW Full Gear - 21:45 NWA Nuff Said - 21:39 ROH Death Before Dishonor - 20:30 NXT No Mercy - 20:19 WWE Elimination Chamber - 19:30 WWE Fastlane - 17:20 Impact Rebellion - 17:10 NXT Battleground - 16:01 NWA Samhain - 15:24 NWA Crockett Cup night 1 - 14:05 NWA Crockett Cup night 2 - 12:54 AEW Double or Nothing - 12:40 AEW All Out - 12:25 Impact Multiverse United 2 - 12:22 Impact Bound for Glory - 11:59 ROH Supercard of Honor - 11:40 AEW Forbidden Door - 10:30 AEW Revolution - 10:00 Impact Multiverse United - 9:20 AEW WrestleDream - 9:00 MLW Slaughterhouse - 8:52 AEW All In - 8:50 MLW Fury Road - 7:42 MLW Never Say Never - 6:42 MLW Fightland - 0:00

Wouldn’t necessarily need to have her cutting extended in-ring promos. But shoot big angles in the ring, and have others not involved in Mone’s feud get more time cutting promos and more attention.

*Not including mixed tags like Beth/Edge v Rhea/Finn from EC or the intergender battle royal from BFG, etc The double edged sword in the comparison with punk, and I’ve thought this for a while, would be the ego that could come with it. The “superiority complex” that meltzers did a few of the ex-wwe talents have shown within AEW.
