Yeah Daniels wants revenge for being punched last week so there is A point to it, or as Bully ray would whinge on Social media "a story line" Fortunate enough to rarely see his tweets but did see him raging about not knowing the why, when, where of Toni and Deonna's matching tattoo's. Seemed an utterly bizarre thing to be worked up about. Now that I think of it, outside of putting women through tables I'm struggling to think of a meaningful storyline the Dudleyz really had in their WWF peak, or a particularly memorable promo segment. What was the deep story behind the Dudleyz, Hardyz and E&C? At least 3 of the 4 Ladder/TLC matches, the most memorable things they did, that they were all in felt very thrown together, the last 2 especially, the only one that had any real storyline I can think of was Summerslam where Edge and Christian had been mocking and attacking the other two teams a lot in the weeks prior and had their own thing going on with Commissioner Foley. The whole "where's the stories!" thing always feels like a stick people cling to that they can beat AEW with because the in ring work is superior to their closest rivals. Maybe Bully is just pining for the days of Aces & Eights. Yeah, the whole TLC rivalry was entirely built on "These are the top three teams and the matches are awesome." THAT'S OK. The X7 one had the whole thing with each team having a third to run interference, and that's not really more of a story than anything in AEW that gets the "needs more angle" treatment. |
