I gotta say Rocky. Atleast Punk’s antics were straight comedy and he got a little bit of comeuppance with the injury right before mania (not saying it’s a good thing). What the Rock did however is soul crushing

The Rock, obviously. Because of his show biz muscles, Dewey is just so much larger than Phil.

CM Punk just made life miserable behind the scenes. From all indications on the reports we've read today, The Rock is essentially fomenting a takeover of WWE from his seat on the Board of Directors to reshape the company in his image alone.

Punk has some of the most diehard fans who will support him through anything. Even if he was in The Rock's place on Smackdown.
Barely anyone seems to be in support of The Rock, even some of the biggest wwe stans.

Punk's stuff didn't have as much to do with the on-screen bumbling that this is with the Rock, which seems impossible to say. He got his own show, banned people from the show and did all this wacky dumbass shit but all of it pales in comparison to how much this has pissed off the IWC. It isn't even close, it is the Rock. Nobody even made a peep in the WWE crowd when Punk would reference everything and I say that as someone who doesn't like the guy at all anymore.

I'd argue Punk is less an IWC villain and more just a villain for people in the business, even if he's trying to better himself on this run.

Rock is connected to multiple moments that annoyed fans. Punk only recently became a villain and even now he's sorta changing. The same can't apply for Rock.

This is crazy recency bias. Punk in AEW commandeered his own show where and was summarily banning people anyone who had slighted him. Walking around with his own title and bragging (while a face) about how he had the ear of the network. And that's before you get into the fighting. The Rock has inserted himself into what most people would've assumed would be the biggest match that's out there to make. If Cody had won last year then it would've received at worst a neutral to positive reaction. And either way, it's a one-night deal.

The Rock just self-sabotaged the biggest WWE storyline they had for the last 2 Wrestlemania's...............
Just because he's on the Board of Directors now and there are bonuses that click in if he's a performer.
He's strictly doing it for the cash and definitely not the love of the business at this point.
You can't blame a man for wanting money and lots of it. He just didn't read the room well at all.

It’s Rock now but it’ll probably be someone else for whatever reason in a week or so. This place loves getting mad at folks

Rock at the moment. Any other time the last 18 months, it would have been Punk. In another few months it will be someone else lol

Punk's a backstage problem and I'm not backstage. Phil's antics do not actually effect me, especially in WWE where he's being watched like a hawk.
Rock's behavior directly effects me.

Punk still has a cult following; Punk was and is a dedicated man who was there every week (when he wasn't in the ICU with anal bleeding) in the trenches; Punk's backstage drama was also f***ing hilarious and the initial scrum thread represents a late peak for FAN. Dwayne is more like a late period Vince move where you just don't care enough to even make jokes and there's little chance of him getting his comeuppance because he's got legit power in the company.
This is the major thing: When CM Punk did it, it was funny. It was like the f***ing loony tunes. Shit was hilarious.

I mean if CM Punk hadn’t gotten injured both in AEW & WWE then both what happened there and what happened here likely wouldn’t have happened so it’s all his fault really (Joke…Well the getting injured part is his fault, everything else in AEW he has a share of at least. Not starting up that discussion again ha just to explain that he’s not actually at fault for getting injured)
Joking aside I think Punk overall is the bigger villain. Rock is just swooping in like the Vulture from Brooklyn Nine Nine and taking all the glory and whilst disappointing I don’t think will really affect WWEs business much if anything. Punk comes across (rightly or wrongly) as someone who did a lot of damage to AEWs reputation as the breath of fresh air in the industry

Punk is an asshole but everyone knows it. You're either going to get along with him or not.
Rock is a scheming type that has to manipulate people into loving him but has moments where his true self shines through.
I'd rather work with a Punk type. Plus I've been on the "Rock sucks" train for decades.

It's funny because Rock had a rep (maybe undeserved) as a nice guy for years. But during the 2023 Hawaii wildfires The Rock and Oprah Winfrey joined forces to start a fundraiser for people who were displaced by the fires. Seems well meaning enough? Well, they were happy to use other people's money to help the refugees, but they used their own billionaire money to hire security forces to keep the riffraff off their billionaire palatial Hawaiian estates.
I don't know if Dwayne Johnson was always a bitch in sheep's clothing or if he got ruined by Hollyweird, but yeah he's a trash person and his "villainy" goes far beyond pro wrestling.
