Yeah, it could go either way. Meng/Haku used to team with Rikishi's twin brother as the Islanders, and Rock has mentioned knowing him since he was like 5, so he considers him an "uncle" and bought him a pickup truck a few years back. Rock also cites Peter Maivia having something to do with Haku's training, but I'm unclear on when this would have taken place, as he was trained by Giant Baba. Maybe he did some shows in the Hawaii territory when he was still green and got some pointers, etc. Could also just be Dwayne stretching the truth in some capacity, hell if I know.

So, the Tongans are sorta family in a sense, but not through marriage or blood, sort of like how Jimmy Snuka and his children similarly are treated as family by Rock.

But, in terms of a gatekeeper on the NXT brand who can serve as a player/coach to help guide and train those in the Performance Center, this is an excellent hire.
