Or his attitude about Ric Flair on Dark Side of the Ring. Which I believe is what led people online to dig that info about Dreamer’s WWE role at the time of the Kuwait incident. Do we have any more info on that connection? The only thing I found is that him and Ashley seemed to be friends: “I remember that day when I found out. Tommy Dreamer called me, and I go, ‘Oh no. It’s either a booking, or he has something funny to say, or it’s a death.’ I didn’t answer it, I was doing laundry. And I want to be focused on my conversations, and ADHD is not helping. [laughs] And then Gail [Kim] texted me what happened. And I go, ‘Oh my God, Tommy just called me.’ I had to call Tommy, and he goes, ‘I wanted to call you before you hear it from someone else.’ And he was so distraught, because he got her a job and he was like a really big part of her life. So it was hard from all of us.” I tend to think Dreamer's a shmuck, but I had never heard of any connection to Ashley either way before today.

Reading some of the news stories on reddit, makes me disappointed that Impact is being treated as a cheap content creator for the network, D'Amore got a lot out of what he could with those limitations.

I as surprised when I saw this. The more I read about it, All Scott wanted to do in grow the brand and invest more into it. For what he had to work with, he did an amazing job. This situation is reminding me of ROH under Sinclair and not in a good way. They to I believe wanted to be cheap content and made budget cuts. Scott is do valuable to not get offers and well respected.

“You’re asking for too much money… and we’re butting heads soo… we’re letting you go. We’re going to merge this with some of our other departments and cut some corners. How hard can it be? You know some of the wrestlers could appear on our Canadian game show channel. That will really set the wrestling world on fire.”
Seriously did they change the name just so we could say.. LOLTNA again?

This shit is so predictable. Got TNA to as high as it could get right now and that's when some bozo in a suit said "hey we can do that", cut him out and now they'll falter. And wonder why they're faltering.

I dread what the TNA Booking and presentation is going to look like when they get to their next set of tapings and these end
It might be like suddenly clicking on a song you love just to hear the sound has been horrible distorted and autotuned.

This must be so depressing as a TNA fan. You've had Ospreay showing up, Okada back for the first time in years after saying he hated the company in the past, Ali and Nemeth coming in, one of their most successful PPV's in years, some beautiful looking new titles, the rebrand, an impassioned promo from Scott D'Amore about TNA being back, fans speculating about whether they could afford Mercedes Mone, having also thought they had a relatively good shot at CM Punk...you'd have been crazy to think the whole company wasn't fully on board and committed to making them a bigger deal, to levelling up as a promotion. Then the news comes out nope, D'Amore's gone, probably the guy most responsible for the company being better in recent years, and the company don't want to spend more money and make the company a bigger deal, they'd actually like to spend less. And on top of that Okada and Ospreay will likely no longer be accessible and Mercedes has signed elsewhere too.
Must just feel like a total kick in the bollocks, not just losing D'Amore who was clearly incredibly popular but the reality of how Anthem see TNA and its future

Maybe Verizon did me a favor by booting AXS off Fios. Now I don't get to see a promotion I really enjoyed get screwed over firsthand.

I hope there's eventually a new #3 promotion in North America that won't get f***ed over by network executives, because WWE and AEW can't sign every wrestler of value, obviously.

There's honestly a decent #3 promotion just out of the people neither company is utilizing very well right now, the depth of talent out there who aren't even signed is insane. A duopoly is better than a monopoly, but a business with multiple viable players and a good number of people making bids for top talent will still always be healthier.

More so this year would be or been the best year to start one. When you have so many top level talent with deals running out and possible testing the markets. I can only imagine what Scott for example could have done with TNA had they give him the money. Because honestly this year is the closest you will get to be in a situation that AEW was in when it started where a good foundation of talent was right there. Just think if a new company came in at the start of the year and they signed Nemeth, Okada, YGV, Mone, Purrazzo, Kammile, Hammerstone, and Jacob Fatu. Thats a foundation that would easily done well. Ive fantasy made a roster page with free agents and indies talent. Plus a watch list of talent been saying deals are running out. On paper 3 strong third could be done. I have less hopes for TNA to be that now if they wanting to cut budget and not increase to land impactful players. MLW clearly isn't it if they losing the cornerstone talent like that have with Fatu and Hammerstone. NWA just not enough budget and Billy Pumpkins just isn't the right guy I trust to do it right. Even with the CW app deal.

Just learned about this and I'm incredibly upset. I wasnt watching the show but I dont watch any wrestling anymore, but I was keeping up and i was very happy to see them doing well and getting good reactions. And I knew that was all thanks to Scott really. So to have this happen, it just sucks ass.

I will say this, I've heard people talk on podcasts about the President replacing D'Amore and it seems to be mostly positive. Jimmy Van is very familiar with him with both being Canadian and says he has experience in wrestling as he dealt with WWE for media in the past, and he has a reputation of someone who leans on the advise of those around him and doesn't think he knows everything.

He talked about the report about Ashley recently on Busted Open and he was taken aback by the whole thing. He sounded real horrified about it. He was a schmuck about Ric Flair, but was fortunately not an idiot about this.

Considering he was a higher up in WWE when the Ashley Massaro incident happened, he really shouldn’t be the guy you put in charge. Especially now that what happened with her is under the microscope again due to Vince’s legal issues. Or his attitude about Ric Flair on Dark Side of the Ring. There was also a video I saw where he openly talked about recommending that female talent in OVW get boob jobs to help them get called up faster to the main roster.

That is a story that needs context added though. He could have been being gross. He could also have been being realistic about what the main roster wanted from women at the time.

TNA wrestlers have sent a letter to anthem saying they did and still believe that Scott D’amore should be in charge of creative in TNA. I likely won’t change anything but I found it well reasoned letter.

The letter was very well-written and didn't do anything to discredit what Anthem has done for TNA. I don't know if it will make them rethink their decision but it makes it clear what the roster thinks of Scott D'Amore and Anthem's decision to fire him.

I doubt it accomplishes anything, but I'm glad to see the roster stick up for Scott.
