I know Billy Jack ain’t exactly in the same league as Hulk Hogan, Austin, and Cena in terms of household names, and not to mention all the shit that’s going on in the industry today, but why aren’t any newz sites reporting any of this? I'd suggest they're still trying to get details of what happened before they can really provide anything halfway accurate. This is _not_ the kind of story you want to get wrong.

There might be an actual insanity defense here, or at least competence to stand trial issues. Depending on how things played out, I'm wondering if it won't be dissimilar to what happened with Verne Gagne. Welp, didn't know that about Verne. Wow.

What an horrific situation. Hard to tell if it was an awful attempt at a mercy kill or Haynes being deeply unwell, but this is very sad. I wouldn't be shocked at the possibility of being a little from column A and a little from column B.

As a mental health advocate, I hate to see this because it has been obvious for years that Billy needed more help than he was getting. But it doesn’t completely absolve him either. This is something that many people, including Billy, should have been trying like hell to avoid for years now.

Depending on how things played out, I'm wondering if it won't be dissimilar to what happened with Verne Gagne. I think Verne’s case was settled fairly quickly, since it happened in the facility where he was being cared for. Unexpected violence from dementia patients is unfortunately a common occurrence. They’ll have to run more tests and such on Billy Jack, I’d imagine. Similar to Snuka being declared unfit to stand trial shortly before his death.

Like nisidhe alluded to, the news outlets have to get things right. From the first day, not much came out other than the neighbor saying it was a former pro wrestler. Some said there was a photo of police arrested a man who look like Billy but I never saw it. Some said it was posted and then took down. One "site" posted a picture of Billy from a recent wrestling interview where he had his hand behind his head. I'm sure that was used to make it look like an arrest photo until you clicked on the site. Also, Billy Jack is so far removed from his fame, his arrest may not garner as much as if it were a more recent or current star. It's a horrible situation but with him being far removed from wrestling, it probably is going to get the headlines a small town killing gets unless we find out more. And more unscrupulous sites can't use his fame to garner attention like they could if it were a bigger WWE star. This interests me so much, not from a wrestling fan perspective but because Alzheimer's/Dementia has affected some of my loved ones. In some cases, my friendships and life choices have taken place due to my short term volunteer visits for a local nursing home. I hope there is justice for Billy's wife but I also hope his own mental health issues can be addressed even in the late stages of his life. While he may get lumped in with Benoit, Snuka and sadly Verne which I think is unfair-I think each situation is totally different and needs to be viewed as such. I hope no one capitalizes on this tragedy but if Dark Side were to do a show on Billy Jack, I think it would require two episodes.
