I would assume that will be the next step once they’re able to open it. The hardware on doors like that doesn’t give you a tonne of warning when it’s gonna f*** up. One day, usually at the worst time like right when you’re leaving work, you just can’t open and/or close the f***ing door

I don’t mean a fire escape. I mean a fire resistant door. So as long as he doesn’t have a fire in the room, he’s safe. Plus, as I mentioned before, he could likely get out through the drop ceiling in his room and crawl over the wall.
