I don't think anyone liked mustache Cody! That shit sucked. What? That was awesome! His moustache was super over. Clearly piped in reactions!

Not a kid but I've been seeing a lot of revisionist history lately about his first run. There was some wrestling twitter account the other day posting his entrance as Stardust going "CREDIT TO CODY FOR BEING TO REVIVE HIS CAREER AFTER THIS!" like it was the worst shit ever created. Stardust was good it just needed to end after Dusty passed. With that said he would've never made it to the heights he's made it to if he didn't leave.

Honestly even at the time I thought Stardust was complete garbage. He kind of made it work at points, especially the brief alliance with Barrett and the Ascension, but the entire time the whole thing just came off as a completely dead-end Goldust knockoff.

Stardust was also really over at the time, and most of that was because Cody put his all into the character. Even when he was in the we don't know what to do with you jobber mode, he never half assed it. That said after the Team Up and break up of Golddust... there's really nowhere for the gimmick to go.

I dunno, I remember those last few months when he really obviously stopped caring, mostly in that awful Sami Zayn debut match.

I liked it when he put bags on people, brought back the IC title and that sweet sweet spot between breaking up with Damien Sandow and becoming Stardust. That spot being where he was also feuding with the Authority and both he and Dustin were fighting to get their jobs back, leading to that amazing tag match at Battleground. The heater he's on now, he'd already showed he was very capable of that this far back, and he would've been worth at least giving a world title shot to at that point.

I hated this look so much. Why did nobody tell him to wear tights before as he looked like such a jobber during this time. Not just the crap attire, the physique wasn't on point either. Same with McIntyre.I'm not advocating juicing but the skinny versions of those guys didn't look like stars to me. I didn't mind Drew at that point. The younger, baby-faced arrogant pretty boy look worked for him at that time since he was a heel. However, I don't think he went anywhere and then was put in 3MB. Anyway, back to Cody. The one I kind of enjoyed was his "Disfigured" run. I thought the injury angle would last a month or two, but he made quite a run out of it, especially with him eventually becoming similar to a cult leader. He made that persona work. I also liked his theme song at the time, which if you listen closely, it's a remixed version of his "Smoke and Mirrors" theme song. It was almost like how when Goldust because "The Artist Formerly Known as Goldust," his theme music was remixed to sound more bizarre.

I don't know about kids, but grown up me loved Stardust, especially his Mr Sinister outfit and that blue look A wrestling comic book supervillain is just right up my alley, but even I'll admit it ran its course. Dashing was entertaining, Undashing had moments of great stuff but I hated the paper bags. I wanted more masked disfigured supervillain than grocery store bagger.

His career trajectory really went up once he embraced pants huh? He really needed pants. It was impossible for me to rescue him seriously with his skinny legs.

This team had so much potential:
A shame it was short lived!
