I remember getting 'The Crow' soundtrack (which is still pretty great) the day it came out, but the movie was not that good, IMO. Like a C+ at best.

I have the VHS of the Stairway to Heaven pilot hahaha I have the entire show on DVD. It's cheesier than a Kevin McAllister pizza order, but it's a fun slice of late-'90s Canadian TV.

Don’t like to judge just solely based on pics, but hard to be optimistic when your first thought is “needs more ‘Damaged’ forehead tattoo.”

It just won’t match up to the original. And by original, I mean The Wraith! (And yes, I know The Wraith is far from the first revenge tale film). The Wraith f***ing rules!!!

They really are not distancing themselves from Leto Joker with that teaser. This movie is gonna be such an immense trash heap I may have to apologize to madame web.

The Wraith f***ing rules!!! With a kick ass soundtrack. It's obviously not great, but sometimes you keep a soft spot for your childhood favs. I remember watching it for the first time with my mom. GET OUT OF MY FACE BURGER BOY OR YOU'LL WIND UP DEAD JUST LIKE YOUR BROTHER.

Trailer looks fine. It's what you'd expect it to be. Lots of people just seem to want a shot-for-shot of the original flick. I'm sure it's not going to be a GOOD movie but looks like a decent enough action flick for me to use one of my AMC A-List movies on it.

The biggest issue I have with this now having seen the trailer besides Leto goth Joker is this movie looks FAR TOO CLEAN.
A big appeal of the original was visually how grimey and dark and practically unlivable the world of the original was and you believed it because of all the absoloute shit heads running around, this just looks like your typical action movie.

I've just kind of accepted that it's been over 30 years and it's not going to have the same feel or look as the original source material at this point. Maybe it'll be good, maybe it'll be a stinker. A happy side effect is that more people are talking about the original given this year is the 30th anniversary (e.g. Alamo Drafthouse is screening it this month in several locations). I hope that for everybody involved it's enough of a success that we continue to see other action flicks with $30-50 million budgets get greenlit.

And that is a huge issue not just with this but alot of recent adaptions is that lack or respect for the source material. Not saying it has to be a 1:1 recreation but this tonally doesn't even feel like a crow film like they could have atleast got that right if nothing else.

The pictures worried me for sure, but as an update in today's world, the trailer won me over. I thought the acting looked good, and honestly, the story/plot with action looks interesting to me. The only thing that would concern me is a long run time. this movie doesn't need to be more 100 mins 110 tops as the original was around that as well and didn't need more.

Hot take: The Crow talked about like it was far better than it actually was because of Lee's death

I'm just not sure that it "feeling" like a Crow movie is going to be the difference here. The audience they're trying to attract probably hasn't seen the original movies. And if we're being really honest, the only truly good movie is the first one, the second one had hints of being decent, Salvation was alright and Wicked Prayer was trash. It's not like they're remaking some beloved franchise. People like the first movie.
