x.com/wrestlepurists/status/1762927615663333568?s=12&t=8rb0VM30L3tBs0ycbjlibw U.S work visas for nearly 20 CMLL stars in Mexico are in the process of being canceled by the United States government.
19 luchadors including the following are expected to be impacted and unable to perform in the United States -
Volador Jr. Hechicero Mascara Dorada Blue Panther Soberano Templario, Dulce Gardenia El Sagrado El Suicida Electrico Espiritu Negro, Euforia, Fugaz, Gemelo Diablo 1 and 2, Magico, Robin, Sangre Imperial, referee Sagaz
It could take months for new visas to go through the approval process and be issued.

The US Government denying us any further Heichicero is enough for me to hate them by itself

Looks to me like CMLL got cocky and f***ed over all their wrestlers from what’s out there online, I’d be pissed if I was them or AEW

There is no country that getting visas, of any kind, is more of a pain than the US

I'm American, but our work visa system seems like a huge pain in the ass. I travelled to japan a couple of times. And I checked, every country with stops has no travel visa requirement, except Canada which you only need an online ticket. Except the US, where you need to travel to my country's capital, have the ticket bought, show then after waiting on line all morning, for a chance of then saying yes.And you need to pay 200 Dollars for that. All that for a 3 Hour Layover.

This is a real shame. I don't know if I'm Tony Khan if I'd continue that relationship with CMLL. Sounds like a massive f***up on their end.

Gonna put the PWInsider report in here because good god Christ, that is some real carny bullshit there by CMLL. The expected a third-party promoter to take care of their talent's visas, and then get shocked when he pulls out after being threatened by DHS (and understandably so may I add)? Now not only are the vast majority of CMLL talent listed in danger of not performing during their biggest payday weekends for WrestleMania, but they could also be facing the same shit Mike Bailey went through a couple years back where he flat-out got banned from the country for five years. That's not even including the additional pain AEW now has to deal with adjusting their plans after devoting TV time to that CMLL mini-invasion for a bit. If it were any other business I'd say this would be a move that would kill any CMLL talent coming into the US (and with it, anyone wanting to work with CMLL), but pro wrestling's never been smart about business to begin with...

I don't think this ends the CMLL partnership but that's a lot of luchadores that might simply vanish
A lot of wrestlers who have already appeared aren't on this list, Mistico, Esfinge, Star Jr. Atlantis and Atlantis Jr tonight, among others
But that doesn't excuse how f***ing shit this is for all the ones effected, guys like Heichicero were a revelation for a lot of US fans and now they might not see them again for months because CMLL ddespite being 100 years old, are still run by f***ing morons.
Would not be shocked if a lot of the talents effected by this leave CMLL as a whole, because they're getting screwed for no reason.

This is why Mexican promotions will never be able to expand outside Mexico and into the US.
