-I think Rock vs Austin at 17 was more important than 15. 15 Rock was the hot new heel and Austin was the guy trying to get the title back. 17, it was the two biggest stars in professional wrestling since Hogan squaring off in a rematch after Rock got big in Austin’s absence
-I guess trilogy for this one but HHH/Taker 3 was more important than the first 2

HBK/Taker 2 at 26 had the story of HBK wanting to avenge his loss to Taker at 25 so bad, he put his career on the line.

Rhea/Charlotte at WM 39 was on a far bigger stage and had a more crowd-pleasing finish, but then it wouldn't have hit as hard without WM 36.

Evolutionarily, TLC 2 was way more important that the Triangle ladder match the year before and lives long in the memory as opposed to it's predecessor.

Bret Hart vs Yokozuna at Wrestlemania X definitely was more important. Ignoring the Hogan stuff at IX or the wonky finish at X. Just the matchup itself. The first time, even at the time, felt like a Super Bowl with two surprise entrants where the favorites were upset in earlier rounds. An unproven champ vs an unknown challenger. Both in kayfabe and in real life, it seemed like a match that was only there because they didn't have anyone else. A year later, both guys had gone through the wars (in kayfabe) and grown their stars (in real life) to where it felt much more like a worthy Wrestlemania Main Event.

Probably WM17 TLC gets more fondly remembered than the WM16 ladder match, and was built up as a bigger deal simply because of how much they stole the show the year before.

The one that is truly forgotten is the Summerslam Match. TLC 2 is not the sequel to the Wrestlemania 2000 match. It's the sequel to TLC 1 at Summerslam 2000 which barely ever gets mentioned these days. |
