Death Valley Driver Video Review carries on without Dean Rasmussen (though I wish there was a archive of the old video reviews from there). Someone was converting them to PDF and uploading them to a google drive or might have been internet archive. I will see if I can find a link.

Honestly, I’d forgotten about it even though it led me here. I still have the book RD put out somewhere in a storage box. Btw, this forum was always the superior WC forum. I checked out the other one and noped out when greeted by a series of posts where the profile pic was an actual penis painted (I hope) to look like a dragon. Post split that forum got very... dude-bro, I guess? There's probably a better word for it than that. That is what happens when the Admin refuses to do anything. Was a troll, who was banned from here. Dude got banned from the other place at least 4 times. All Permabans. Then this troll would jsut keep bugging the Admin on FB about being banned. Instead of say blocking the troll the admin would unban them. That and then more than a few mods abusing their powers over there caused it's decline. What's odd was there was a rule about "no mention of feces or farts" when a word for feces is in the name of the place.

Cracked is still around lazily putting out “content”. I remember back when they were a low rent version of Mad Magazine (that I still bought every month) The fact they're still a thing is wild to me

Until they fired everyone in the adpocolypse. Most of them went on to do pretty major things afterwards.

Why waste money on costly writers when you can sort by top comments and screenshot 10 year old AskReddit posts? Or post the same 30 "trivia" pieces over and over and over and over? Just need a few "articles" on why some comedy piece isn't funny and BAM! website.

A morbid example, but the Heaven's Gate website is still up and being maintained by the members that were chosen to "stay on Earth". This will never not freak me out.

Toon Zone still exists as a forum. That used to be the destination for fan promoted DC animation content, although they did a number of hit pieces on 80s cartoons with their 'reviews' of box sets...still laugh at how they've dwindled down to nothing of note while all those cartoons remain revered and influence reboots and continuations to this day. Karma.

The Original Hip-hop Lyrics Archive is a website that I discovered in 2000 when I was 14. The site still looks like it uses old-school style coding, and when you are looking up lyrics from some "non-favorite" artists, it looks like an old directory from the 1990s.
The website is still being updated, too.

This post made me actually look up the page, and it looks exactly like some shit you would have seen online back in 97 when that whole sad fiasco went down. How there are still people (/person?) maintaing the site after all this time is mind boggling

That was how I was able to discover other artists at the time. Even with people listening to Eminem and other hot acts back in 2000, I was trying to dig deeper to discover other rappers.

Two directories that forged my junior high listening habits and education after I received a long list of suggestions in AOL chatrooms.
