There are lots of areas where competition is a great thing. I don't think Hall of Fame's are necessarily one of them. It's all kind of bullshit anyway, but both major companies having separate HoF's would do nothing but reduce their overall importance.
People don't like WWE having what is recognised as THE wrestling Hall of Fame, which makes sense. But it's no better having another individual company start one up.
What might make more sense is if all the other non-WWE companies got behind an independent body to run a wrestling Hall of Fame with voters etc.

Jerry Lynn, Christopher Daniels and Dean Malenko would also be worthy additions

AEW having their own hall of fame doesn't necessarily mean it has to be competing with WWE on that, so much as celebrating their own history and those it chooses to highlight, same as how the ones I've mentioned don't diminish WWE's, per se.

I know non-WWE Halls exist, but they don't have the backing of the major national and international companies. If the goal was to make a credible Hall of Fame for pro-wrestling, outside of the whims of the WWE, then that'd be the way to do it. But regardless, the WWE Hall of Fame is broadly recognised as THE pro wrestling Hall of Fame because of its scale and the platform. Any other Hall operating on a national/international level would be competing against it.
