Watched the end clip of the HOB/Infantry match (I guess they couldn't really skip around the Dean botch, so they just straight up started the video with it) and it seemed like a decent enough "played with their food and got punished for it" story. Even managed to protect Brody as the hot headed "Imma gonna kill him" one by having him charge off only to realize what' happening and not get the save.
Perhaps the Infantry will get the Mulkey's like tournament run we've always wanted where a team runs on banana peel slapstick luck.
Next week "the greatest tag team in AEW" loses to The Infantry when Carlie Bravo, head taped from the piledriver on the table, accidentally ties Dax's hands together during a headlock while Sean Dean KO's Wheeler by losing a contact lens and unknowingly managing to avoid a series of punches before delivering a headbutt once he finds the lens and stands up too quickly.

Real clunker of a tournament bracket IMO

I think they could land on some decent semi finals. Bucks vs OC/Trent & FTR vs Top Flight would both be greay matches

I think Mox/Claudio's abscene in this tournament points to where Mox's year might be heading.
If Tetsuya Nauto beats the New Japan Cup winner on April 6th, then he and Mox will meet in Chicago on April 12th for the IWGP World Heavyweight title. I think Mox is going to win the belt there. He's a huge star in Japan and one that can make it over there quite regularly to defend the title, plus have it on an AEW star over Forbidden Door season. NJPW need to offset the losses of Okada and Ospreay by putting their world title on a huge international star and Mox fits the bill. So if that's in Mox'd future I can see why they might not want them in the tag tournament.

Didn't think of that but yeah Naito's kind of banged up and they're in desperate need of star power and synergy for the Forbidden Door event, and that would do it.

That's fair. Give Mox the opportunity to rest up for events and matches he's already committed to instead of running him into the ground in a tournament that can cope without him.

While I would personally rather Starks/Bill win it back, I think now is the time you finally pull the trigger on Private Party or Top Flight

Having a hard time seeing the finals as anything other than Bucks/FTR IV.
It'd be the first time with FTR as out and out faces and the Bucks as out and out heels, and the story would be the two biggest teams in AEW history vying to become the first ever 3x tag champs, but I dunno, would like the tournament to throw out a surprise or two to be honest.

I agree. I'd rather they give a "new" team a try. Although Bucks vs FTR would be a great match, it's also the most boring result.

I’m still pulling for Bucks/Top Flight as the final, but I feel like Bucks/FTR 4 is likely the way they go especially if they aren’t feeling super confident about the outcome of FTR Gun’s trial.

I hope the final is Best Friends v Starks & Bill. Just because I’ve seen FTR v Bucks enough now (and live at Wembley last year) and I think Best Friends deserve a run even if I’m not the biggest fan of Trent & Chuck but I love OC.
