I know he was one in wcw (didnt really watch his performance there), but do you think he would have been accepted as a heel in the Fed? I remember when he funded with Eddie I was mad that Eddie was the one that had to go heel (obviously with hindsight it was the right move)

Yeah. Just flip Rey and Batista in the same storyline. Have him turn on Batista.

I can think of 2 senerios this MIGHT have worked. 2010, when he fended with Undertaker AND Kane was right with him attacking his brother. Or 2014, right after he was booed in Royal Rumble for NOT being Daniel Bryan. They could have ran with him saying "screw the fans" and being a wwe challenger once Bryan win the title. |

I still think there's time. A double turn when Dominik turns face could be done if the writers put their best thinking caps on. A disappointed and disapproving dad, a "back in my day" grizzled old vet, a conservative boomer mindset towards how Lucha should never change, and so on... might as well there's nothing else for him to do as a face.

He could never be a heel in the WWE. Why? Money! They make to much money in merchandise off him. Just like Cena. They don't want to lose that revenue!

Yeah, for sure. After he won the world title after Eddie's death just have Rey slander Eddie in a promo. Have him say Eddie always held him back and he couldn't have been world champion with him around. Easy heat as insane as the storyline would have been.

I think so. Even today I think it could happen. Mimic the heel run Spike Dudley had as the boss of the Dudley Boyz. Give him a couple of guys to run interference for him, be disgusted at the new generation of Lucha. Him against Dragon Lee, babyface Santos and the original LdF, Ricochet, and so on.

There was definitely Rey Mysterio fatigue at points during the late 00's and 10's where I think people would've been fine with booing him. Whether Rey himself could be a good heel remains to be seen.

Someone once told Ricky Steamboat that he could go out with a chainsaw, cut both of Hoganâs arms off, and the fans would still cheer him. You could say the same thing about Rey.

When Seth Rollins pulled Rey's eye out, Rey could have accidentally gotten an evil eye to replace it that turned him heel. Writes itself, really.
