Having just sat down and seen Ilsa, She Witch of the SS I must say I could not see what all the fuss was about. Yes, it was done in real bad taste but I still found it rather tame compared to what I was expecting.

Ilsa Harum Keeper of the Oil Sheiks is nastier than the first film.
A few for me.
Monty Python and the Holy Grail-By the time I had finally seen it,and I was 20 I think,I had already had most of the movie quoted to me over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over.
This is Spinal Tap-See above but I was 25 when I finally saw this.

Buckaroo Banzai felt like it was trying too hard to be a cult film, nothing about it made me want to see it again. Iron Sky was sold to me as an oddball comedy, what we got was excruciating, something you can absolutely tell was written by non native english speakers and a lot of the humour was lost in translation.

The Room
Oh, it's bad, soooo, so bad. But the way folks calls it "worst movie evar!" and such, it's not, IMO. For one, it's not boring as such, and it actually has a point which it kind of reacheas in a convulated way.

Top Gun: Maverick was a perfectly fine Summer action movie.
That happened to have the the extreme fortune to be available at a time when theaters needed a draw to get people back in the doors, and it caught fire.
Not tough to find Reddit posts asking in all seriousness why it wasn't Best Picture, and all I can wonder is if they've ever seen the movie.

We went through that whole movie and at no time did we learn WHO the antagonists are. They're only "the enemy".

Get Out
Hyped up as one of the best horror movies ever and I just found it perfectly ok. Not great, not bad--a serviceable horror movie. Really good acting and casting though. But the overall concept I just found silly--and for a silly concept, it tried to take itself way too seriously.

I always assumed Russians because they were dogfighting MiG's, but those could have been sold to anyone, and in reality we're never told definitively.

Well that and a couple of people watching it insisted on quoting the movie as it happened.

This one is cheating because it was originally a comic book but "The Killing Joke". I heard so much about it and so many writers of Batman mention it but when I read it, it was just kinda, 'that's it?' Not only that, it's led to way too many people getting obsessed with Joker's whole 'the only thing separating me from others is one bad day', when in that very comic he is proven completely wrong. It was like they read the description on the back and called it a day.

Signs with Mel Gibson in it. Everyone I knew was raving about it but I found it boring as f*** personally.

Certainly not worth being a academy award nomeny for best picture..

Maybe it's just because I just watched it last night, but Nomadland. I guess we're at a point where a movie doesn't need structure to be called a movie. Just a series of vignettes of someone doing something that doesn't tie into the next scene or overall doesn't contribute to the plot. The main character doesn't have any major traits, not much is explored about her background, no driving factor is set up and paid off. Just someone living their day to day life. And I guess you can say that was the point? Well, cool...but I watch movies to watch STORIES...and this movie wasn't so much a story as much as it is a window into how someone lives their life. If I wanted that, I'd watch a documentary on the subject, or I'd go explore that subject on my own. As it stands, it's weak tea. And this movie is critically acclaimed and a Best Picture winner. Monty Python and the Holy Grail-By the time I had finally seen it,and I was 20 I think,I had already had most of the movie quoted to me over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over. Yup. My experience watching it was twice during high school during our bus trips to State for choir, both times there were people (different people) who felt the need to quote the scene right before the scene happened and then laugh like a buffoon during the scene anyways. I have no reason to ever revisit the movie and I just hate it due to my experience with it.
