A 4 and that's being generous probably. Rhea/Becky was good and Sami/Gunther was pretty great while the Mysterios tag was solid and the women's tag was fine for what was basically a TV show match. The tag ladder match was an annoying slog, the Usos match was maybe a bottom five match in Mania history, and the tag main event had maybe 5 interesting minutes in 45 minutes of ring time.
The usual thing with night ones is they're paced well and this basically was ruined after the Usos atrocity pacing wise.

5, but that's partly on me - I can't get into WWE's modern presentation anymore.

Someone already pointed this out but this didn’t have a Wrestlemania feel to it, and I’m pretty sure it’s because of the stage/setting. It feels off.

I didn't mind the set. For me, personally, it was because there were three straight matches that felt like they should've been on SD instead.

I voted 4/10. Worst Night 1 of a Mania so far and for a Mania very underwhelming. Too many tag matches. The Main Event concept (the guys from the Main events of Night 2 squaring of the previous night) was and is a bad decision. There was no "oomph" or rewatchability with any of these matches. Matches were mostly far too long without anything memorable happening.
Becky vs Rhea and the Laddermatch were okay. The Uso-match was almost as disappointing as the first Brock/Goldberg match. The wrong guy won in te IC-ttile match. The main event had too many long-staredown with zero reaction from the crowd. Glad to see that Cody got rejected by the fans. Match could have been 20 minutes shorter. The other tag-matches were just forgettable matches to get talent on the card. And can someone explain to me why Barbarian and Warlord are joining the LWO?
Night 2 HAS to be better than this.

I went with 7. I will acknowledge that I was playing Marvel Puzzle quest for part of the show. Becky/Rhea was enjoyable with only a moment or two where they seemed slightly out of place. It was not the best match I've seen from either by a long shot, but it was a decent match. The tag belt match was probably the most fun which is to be expected with a six team ladder match. Lots of crazy spots, fun spots, serious spots and I did enjoy Truth getting the hero's applause when he won. The Rey/Andrade vs Santos/Dominik match was alright. Admittedly, I didn't really have much interest in it. I can acknowledge that Dominik has improved but I still just kinda don't care about him. I also don't give a crap about football so the ending fell kinda flat for me apart from it was nice to see someone finally get one over on Santos. He's pretty much had the LWO's number since turning. Jey/Jimmmmy was meh. Too many superkicks. The Gunther/Sami match was alright. I think I've preferred other Gunther matches more. It also feels like Gunther's lost something in the past few months. Maybe it was him not being able to do international shows, but there was a point where his reign was on fire. Not so much anymore. As such, it didn't bother me that much that Sami beat him. The 6 women match was there. It was alright and Damage Ctrl got in more offence than I thought they would. Bianca did try to put them over as a threat in the video, but watching the video package it was kinda like, that's a lie, nope, that's also a lie. Bless her heart though, she did try. I generally enjoyed the main event. I had low expectations, knowing that it would likely be more spectacle than anything. The announcers were unbearable in the match though.
I'm finding that Pat McAfee is far more miss than hit for me. When Corey Graves is better than you for most of the night, whoof (I normally can't stand Graves). Both Graves and Pat were atrocious in the main event. That definitely took away from things.
Overall, I somewhat enjoyed myself. However, after night 1 last year I was pumped. Right now, I'm just kinda enh.
Shoutout to the "santa deserved it" sign.

Rhea vs. Becky: This didn't quite live up to the hype I had built for it. It was fine, but for two of the best workers and sellers of their division, it didn't hit the highs. That could be because Becky had been, and still was, ill coming into it, so I'll give it a pass for that alone.
Tag Team Championship Ladder Match: HATE that Waller/Theory won a set. LOVE that Truth and Miz did. And the tag titles are finally f***ing separated. Decent enough match given the clusterf***ery of the match type and all teams involved.
Rey/Andrade vs. Santos/Dom: I feel like in any other promotion this would have stolen the show given the talent involved. Vastly underdelivered. Rey is officially the god-king of pandering. REYWINSLOL.
Jimmy vs. Jey: Whomever booked this match needs to be scolded. Poorly laid out, with a massively underwhelming ending sequence. Glad Jey won, but I would rather have seen Jey vs. GUNTHER instead.
Damage CTRL vs. Jade/Bianca/Naomi: Asuka's never gonna win at WM...not that the outcome was in doubt here. At least she didn't take the fall. Dakota looked cool as hell, and I'm glad she had a nice WM moment. That driver that Jade did should be her finisher.
GUNTHER vs. Sami: Best match of the night, but even then, I just can't get into Sami Zayn much anymore. Bummed GUNTHER lost, as I was hoping he would go to Germany as champ, but I assume he gets strapped up as world champion there now. Still think they should have called Dragunov up, and had him face GUNTHER instead (if not Jey). This should have been the main event, but Dwayne just had to get that booked for himself.
Cody/Seth vs. Dwayne/Roman: You shave off 25 minutes, and this is a fantastic match. But it was just too damn long. Props to Dwayne for going that long, and not looking as out of place as he did in his outings with Cena, but still, this wasn't necessary to have at all, and for awhile found myself zoning out. Once Dwayne started "abusing his power" and it went street fight it picked up for me. Also I know it wasn't in the plans, but Priest not coming out to challenge Seth at the end was silly.
Overall I'll give it a 6. A very weak night one. The problem I have with WWE shows is the WWE style. Most matches are the same, and people rarely get out of first gear. I get excited about the "match-ups" but not the matches themselves. The WWE style works for your Bron Breakker's and Tiffany Stratton's, but let people who can go...f***ing GO. Especially at WM.
I get excited for the spectacle of AdvertisementMania, but not so much what happens in the ring.
Like freakin' Lee Johnson vs. Kyle Fletcher at Supercard of Honor was better than anything on this show, and that's a shame given the talent roster WWE have.
I dunno, we'll see what Night 2 has in store. I'm not looking forward to it being the same crowd again that's for sure.

I’d say around a 6.5. Weird match placement and matches that were fine but nothing that I’d call WM worthy really either.

Was underwhelmed by Becky and Rhea and the Uso's match was bad. The women's tag and the Mysterio tag were both entertaining but didn't really need to be on the card.
On the flip side, I'm always a fan of a WrestleMania spot fest ladder match. The Sami match was great and the entrance sequence was one of the best they've ever done. I went from not caring about the outcome to being totally invested in Zayn winning. And then the main event was awesome.
Would probably give it a 7 overall.

Solid show probably in the 6 to 7 range, nothing terrible bar the usos but nothing great really either.

I gave it a seven.
A few notes:
The match order sucked. I don't get why you had Rhea and Becky start it off. Personally, I'd have had the Usos lead off as a call back to WMX, but that is just me.
I really like SamI Zayn, but this just felt like a consolation prize. At this point, it felt like someone of higher stature should have dethroned Gunther.
Naomi just felt off in that team. I've never been a big Naomi fan but Bianca and Jade are stars, Naomi just felt like filler.
Lil Wayne being billed as the greatest rapper is like me being billed as the world's greatest lover. I know it is all subjective, but God damn, I can come up with about 10 people without thinking who are better than him on their worse day than he is on his best.
I'm so happy R-Truth got time to shine. I LOL'd at his tag. He is a national treasure.
In that same vein, with that match, you need to have your balls screwed on pretty tight to take the bumps we saw from multiple people.
The LED board on the railings need to contrast more with the mat. It blends together too much.
Rocky looks great for any age, but he must be cycling off.
I've never been more convinced that Cody is winning than I am now. If he ends up not winning or having some screwy finish, I might be done. Like done done. As in done done done done done. You need to pull the trigger at some point and if you don't, you will lose the audience.

Gave it a 6. The good stuff was just good, there was no big “wow I can’t believe that happened!” moment or match of the year candidate that folks are gonna be watching over again. Main event started out super slow and was too long but really picked up in spots so I’ll just barely put it in the “good” pile.
The bad stuff (Rey and friends tag, Usos match, and six women tag) were all one after another which made a good chunk of the show a slog to sit through.
All in all not a terrible show but one that felt just there, didn’t have that special Wrestlemania feel. Definitely the most underwhelming Night One.

I'm going for 7.
The Usos shit the bed with a terrible match, made even more baffling by the fact this was supposedly a dream match of theirs, and the 6 women tag was ruined by the terrible chicken advert, but everything else was good.
That said nothing was great, though the main event came closest. Ripley vs Lynch was good, the ladder match was messy but has some unbelievable spots, and the Mysterio match was fun. Gunther vs Zayn was good, though way Zayn is celebrating a midcard belt that's beneath him is lost on me.

I feel like Rhea and Becky have a better match in them, but given Becky had a fever and was unwell, that match was still far better than it had any right to be.
I'd give it 6/10.
The main event might need to be reappraised when I'm not knackered. The only blots were Kairi being squashed, and the Usos match.

It’s a 6 from me.
Becky va Rhea was good, had extra gears but Becky had been ill during the week so I think it probably went about as well as it could. Obviously right call for Rhea to go over.
The ladder match was entertaining and I really liked R-Truth getting his moment. Much deserved.
Rey/Andrade vs Santos/Dom didn’t do much for me unfortunately, aside from the insane jump from the ring near the end.
The USOs match was very flat.
6 woman tag: I took a break at this point because it was very obvious who would win and DC would look lame again.
IC match was pretty good but just have the feeling it could have been better somehow. Halfway through the match it was very obvious Sami was winning to me.
Main event was way too long as most people have said. It’s the right call to have Cody lose to make tomorrow feel even more epic if/when Cody wins.
General thoughts about the show are that the crowd seemed a little subdued (too cold?) and the relentless advertising on the ring and the barriers took a little something away from the mania feeling for me. I can’t really recall if they did the same last year, or in previous years. It really noticeable to me on the show this time though.
Overall it was not a turd of a show by any stretch but was just missing that certain je ne sais quoi
Let’s hope night 2 blows us away.

R Truth = starting at 10/10
The Usos, much to my surprise.... kinda sucked hard. They drag the rating down. Couple different matches that just kinda felt like regular PPV things. Drops it a bit. Sami/Gunther was a banger, that brings it up a bit. Rock/Seth/Cody was fun. That brings it up a bit. They need to hire somebody to "filter" ads correctly. The "serious" Usos match being surrounded by buttwipe ads and Jade Cargill's debut being surrounded by fried chicken were some brain dead decisions.
Night one ends up around a 7. If R Truth didn't get his moment it would probably be a 5ish.

This show made me realize that WWE's overproduced presentation & pageantry, for its big events, just didn't do it for me anymore, at least as far as hiding the flaws and highlighting the strengths go. Had little to no emotional involvement in the entire card, ended tuning in and out of some matches (Becky/Rhea, ladder match, Usos, Rey), was disappointed by other matches I had hopes for (Jade is still the same Jade, no progress there ; contrary to most, I felt Sami/Gunther was rushed, and both guys are capable of much better), and I was unsurprised by the main event's result (although Rock held up his end of the bargain and looked in great shape).
So... 5/10. Shouldn't have watched Night 1 after Supercard of honor. Hopefully Night 2 is a bit stronger... though I couldn't care less about Cody's story getting finished or not.
