I'm sorry, that was hilarious when he trapped Del Toro's fingers in the door. They're gonna turn him into an accident-prone bufoon. So Shockmaster....if Shockmaster actually did nearly kill himself and maybe, I dunno, Sid when he tripped? Got it. This new era is better, but not perfect? Got that memo too. On the other hand, you do remember that making characters from legit injuries is nothing new. There's Chris Benoit (okay I didn't make things more comfortable...) for one. And the whole Owen 3:16 thing.

The crazy thing is that I think the basic gimmick could work if it was someone who was actually interesting. But Ridge Holland is just so dull. he is extremely dull and it could work but you'd need someone really interesting for it as you said. once you get to the level of actor/wrestler that IMO it would require, it would kinda be like why choose this though yknow? you can hear the crowd just die when he walks out there and the most i've seen people ever react for him was people getting mad that some of us didn't buy that he was actually taking a "real" mental health break. I don't want that in my goofy wrestling show lol, that shit bums me out Yeah, the typical NXT crowd is f***ing dead for his promos. Not even a "WHAT?" chant. And then they pair him with Shawn Spears who also gets little reaction from that crowd beyond a "HOLY!" return chant. And I'm starting to believe that was entirely piped in because that reaction hasn't translated at all to anything Shawn's done since. You don't go from that kind of return reaction to dead silence within the span of a week.

I think it's great that Shawn Spears feels chairitable enough to take Ridge under his wing.
