Highs that came to mind that I hadn’t seen: - Cruiserweight Classic and Mae Young Classic was such a great way to introduce new talent/characters with banger matches. Got me looking into NXT, NXT UK, 205 live. And at least the NXT’s were fantastic during this era, which makes me sad what happened to some of these NXT stars later in the main roster. (I had written a lot but the forum ate my post so some clif notes instead 😭😭😭) - King Neville King of The Cruiserweights lows - making nxt stars like nakamura and bayzler into chumps who have never recovered Actually, yeah. The CWC would be the high point for me. I had so much fun watching that. It was like being young, seeing WCW for the first time.

I have to say, the most entertaining collective meltdown of the wrestling commmunity I've ever seen was Seth Rollins vs. The Fiend Hell in a Cell. Johnblud's epic rant on the newlegacyinc Twitch and Alvarez literally rolling on the floor in laughter as he realized the absurdity of everything that happened was something else, and I know there are other takes on that match that are just as hilarious. i thought it was complete bullshit it happened but i've always found it funny that was the last straw for so many people. don't get me wrong it was terrible, even more awful considering the timing with AEW but that being what genuinely drove a shitload of people away never fails to crack me up. Never in my life had I seen a Main Event for a PPV/PLE that got such a negative reaction and it managed to make both guys and the company and even the referee look bad. That was the same month as Brock squashing Kofi too. I was optimistic about returning as a fan that Fall with the new Smackdown and Raw and within only days it was over like that and I almost never went back.

Some more stuff I just remembered that hasn't been mentioned yet: Lows: The New Age Outlaws entire 2013-14 run up until WM XXX, the Prime Time Players breaking up and having an awful feud not just once but twice, CM Punk going from a great feud and match with Brock to feuding with Rybaxel, AJ Lee's "pipebomb" on the women's division, the booking of Seth Rollins' first title reign after he cashed in at WM, the Ziggler/Rusev/Lana/Summer Rae angle, LORD TENSAI, Alboreto Del Rio winning the title back from a red hot Dolph Ziggler in 2013, Luke Harper getting over on SD only to be taken off TV for several months in 2017, the refusal to capitalize on Rusev Day's popularity by having them at least win the Tag Titles, them not knowing what the f*** to do with Aleister Black on the main roster, bringing in Cain Velasquez to feud with Brock because UFC Highs: Neville and Enzo's (heel) character work on 205 Live, the AJ Lee vs. Kaitlyn feud, The List of Jericho, The Festival of Friendship betrayal with Jericho and KO, the Otis/Mandy/Dolph love triangle What was so bad about the Outlaws run? They came in as a nostalgia act and were still pretty over. I know some didn't like them winning the Tag belts but I'd rather them than a genereric flunky tag team that didn't earn it. They ended up turning Heel and put over The Shield better than anyone else as well as dropped the belt to The Usos. Their lasting image wasn't anything of glory for them but instead was Road Dogg having his mic entrance cut off by The Shield and both he and Billy getting their asses kicked in 3 minutes. I actually thought they did great in that regard. Took what started as a babyface nostalgia act, turned them into flunkies for Triple H and at the end fed them to 3 up and coming stars that springboarded that match to a feud with Evolution that really got them over after and within a few years, all 3 were World Champions. Was the booking great? No, you could tell the WWE wasn't sure what to do initially but by the end of Wrestlemania 30 and both taking a triple powerbomb and looking like shit compared to The Shield, you couldn't have asked for anything more. I'm glad the Outlaws got that final run, if only for that Wrestlemania match. Probably the best squash match I've ever seen, took 3 major players from the Attitude Era and fed them to 3 major players of the next 10 years. A low? Not even. Flawed at times, yeah, but my last memory of the New Age Outlaws is both getting dropped by The Shield like they were nobodies and thats hard to do with former stars. Billy and Road Dogg did their job that Winter of 2014.

I’ve always felt the Fiend/Seth finish was more the straw that broke the camel’s back for people tuning out of WWE. Particularly off the back of Brock squashing Kofi a couple of days before and AEW just getting off the ground.
The thing as well is that Hell in a Cell is one of WWE’s most iconic matches and part of the appeal is that there MUST be a winner.
So to have not one but TWO Hell in a Cell main events go to a no contest because of bull**** referee stoppages, I can understand folk why were angry.
It’s their fault for sticking Fiend into the title picture. That character should have been nowhere near a title at that stage. At some point that unstoppable, horror movie character that takes about 100 chair shots and sledgehammers to the head is going to need to lose at some point if the title’s involved.
And what was the payoff? Goldberg squashing Fiend in two mins in Saudi? Give me a break.

Remember when Road Dogg got left in charge of Smackdown in 2017 and turned the 4th of July into the 4th of shit?

The problem with the Dudleyz was it was just a straight replay of their greatest hits. That was cool for a match or two, but it quickly became the same damn match every single time they were in the ring. It was around that time that RVD came back and did basically the same thing. I remember once upon a time he seemed genuinely innovative and then his return was just, 'hey, I'm gonna do those few moves you remember from 15 years ago and nothing else'.

I really never consistently watched WWE through the 2010s, but whenever a topic like this comes up I've always said a major low point to me was circa 2010-2011, whenever it was they did the "walkout" angle.
To this day, it's quite possibly the worst thing I've ever seen in pro wrestling; I saw it because it was on one of the TVs of the gym I was at and I was on a treadmill, but the part I was seeing was the follow-up where the show opened with only Triple H, Cena, Sheamus, and Punk available, and my jaw was hitting the floor with how vile a choice the whole thing was. Bear in mind this was around the time TNA had Bobby Roode blow his chance at beating Kurt Angle at Bound for Glory (at least they made up for it with his heel title run, but my god, that moment was awful), so my patience with pro wrestling as a whole was into full-on negative territory at that point.
As for the best, again, never watched much, but Jericho coming out all smiling and then just leaving before doing his heel turn was a solid presentation, and if the Bryan as an eco-warrior gimmick and KofiMania were before 2020, they count; one could argue they kind of lucked into Kofi's run given injuries and whatnot, but they ran with it once they had it.
