When the story came out in 2022 about Vince having affairs with his employees, he had to resign because he was canceled.
But it's been well known for a long time that Vince is a terrible person. There's multiple other things he should have been canceled for, long before 2022. Rehiring Pat Patterson, the Rita Chatterton rape accusation, helping Snuka get away with murder, the steroid scandal.
It's pretty surprising it took this long for Vince to be canceled for something.

I'm surprised no one went after him for some of the things in the early 2000s, like the "kiss my...club" or the backstage skits with females.
I read about the Rita Marie story about 10-15 years ago and my reaction was "of course he did it." There's no way a guy doing the things he did on TV didn't have a private life full of scandal. It takes a disgusting human being to do the things he did on TV. Yes, they are part of a "storyline" but he's the boss and what happens if Jim Ross or Trish refuse? It didn't help that Mick Foley wanted to be a member of the "club" therefore encouraging Vince.
What surprises me is not that he's been cancelled. I really don't think he has. What surprises me is that if he has been cancelled, it too so long.

No
The rich and powerful and famous can get away with seemingly anything. Just look at all the 70s and 80s musicians who still have careers despite being shit bags. The lead singer of the RHCP literally wrote a song bragging about raping a 14 year old girl in his car, yet hasn't been cancelled.

Not really.
He had such fortune, such impenetrable power within his own company (and thus, for a long time, the pro wrestling industry as a whole) and such an ability to manipulate those around him (the effects of which are still ongoing today judging by how some have reacted to these revelations) and say the right things to make it look like any potential victims speaking out would look like crazy people, that it's almost surprising that someone DID summon up the bravery to say something.

The fact he worked in pro wrestling benefited him in that no one ever really took him seriously enough to look into him with any real zeal. See also: Ric Flair.
I think the main difference here is that by tying the company up into TKO, and becoming beholden to someone else with a lot more legitimacy, he couldn’t slink away and hide for a bit before returning like last time.

I really hate the word Cancelled. No one's been "cancelled" almost everyone that claims about being so is still working... they're just mad that they got called out and are receiving consequences from their own shitty behavior.

And if they can't find work, they can always start a Podcast called "The Truth" or "Silenced!" and get on the right-wing grift train with the likes of Joey Barton, Scott Ritter, Russell Brand, Andrew Tate and the rest of the losers.

Kind of I remember when MeToo happened and myself and lost everyone was like “it’s only a matter of time before Vince gets busted “

Also, I don't think the term cancelled really applies to someone who is being investigated by the Department of Justice as we speak, never mind the lawsuit.

Not even slightly. He got away with what he did to Rita Chatterton in the 80s, young boys being sexually assaulted by his employees, steroids, drugs and a generation of talent dropping dead at alarmingly young ages, the Diva search and it's callous disregard for the well-being of every talent involved, keeping a show going after a human being died in the ring due to his negligence, trying to strongarm and screw over a charity after striking a deal in good faith... He was always a sh*that, the only surprise is that he's suffered any repercussions at all. And even then, the repercussions have left him a billionaire on more than just paper for the first time in his life, just not able to play with his action figures in public.

Vince had done a lot of bad stuff well before the recent reports surfaced. I think as others have said the fact that it’s wrestling gave him a lot of rope as mainstream media never took it seriously, and wrestling fans weren’t going to stop watching wrestling, so he continued to skate by.

What finally took him down was a respected, mainstream publication running a big, investigative story about him. For a man that powerful, it was always going to take that much, and it was the one thing that I'd given up expecting to ever happen.

If being cancelled meant anything why do I hear so much about people complaining about being cancelled? How cancelled are you, exactly, if you're complaining about being cancelled in your Netflix special or your newspaper op ed??

Not really. We always had inference he was a horrible person, but nothing concrete that could stick beyond plausible deniability. And even with actual concrete evidence he still has fans trying to pretend he did nothing wrong and should be welcomed back ala Chris Benoit.

If you are an adult and still believe justice happens, you have a hard lesson in the world.
It isn't just rich people its all about influence. Having money makes it easier but even a meager school teacher can get away with abusing kids for years and nothing is said.
Small towns are just as guilty as big cities in that regard and your local grocery store manager is just as shady, he just doesn't broadcast himself, but he's good friends with your town sheriff whose friends with the judge.
Cancelled isn't an real term but a lot of you guys don't get that justice doesn't happen without some sort of power backing it. You can expose anyone as anything but if no one truly does anything about it, what can you expect to happen?
Trust me, I've seen a fair share of cover ups over the years in my work experience, academic experience and even social clubs and those people don't have the McMillions McMahon has or the friends.
