With less than an hour of Year 2006 left, I felt like I wanted to do this, and something bigger later. So, I basically took some time and prepared a list of video game girls I liked through the year. I know that most of you will probably not agree with most of the list, or even all of it. I wouldn't blame you, since I'm behind on the times. However, don't try to talk down to me, playa, or else you'll be going one on one with THA UNDATAKAH!Holla,Holla,Holla![/Teddy Long].
Special Note: Several of the choices had games that were not released in 2006. It's my fault for not being real knowledgeable in video games of this year. However, These games have been ported or re-released, in 2006, and that explains their presence here.
1o:Bonne Jenet(King of Fighters 2006)
Starting off the list is B. Jenet, Originally a character in Garou: Mark of the Wolves, she returns to this generation as an unlockable fighter in the video game "King of Fighters 2006". Known for being very cheery until you make her mad, she looks like she's wearing a flag instead of a dress. Wait, I think that is a flag.
9. Isabela Keyes (Dead Rising)
Number 9 is Ms. Isabela Keyes, the younger sister of Carlito, the man responsible for the virus in "Dead Rising". You can never trust a Carlito. Anyway, after losing to you and getting shot by her brother cause of it, you save her and she ends up fighting by your side till the end. In a game where zombies, psychos, and old people torment you, it's never bad to have a pretty face to look at.
8. Helena(Dead Or Alive Xtreme 2)
If you are one of those people who looks for empowering women in video games, then "Dead or Alive Xtreme 2" sure as hell wasn't for you. Improved Breast Physics, Skimpier Bikinis, and Suggestive Minigames give a sexual cover to a mundane game with women with the personalities of 16-year old girls. Insert Rob Feinstein joke here.......oh, wait, I said girls. Nevermind. ;D Why did I pick Helena out of the other girls? Cause she's CLASSY! Seriously, that's why.
7. Chae Lin (King Of Fighters 2006)
Another pick from King of Fighters 2k6 comes with Maximum Impact. She already got kudos points by being associated with my favorite character, Kim. Her play style in KOF sealed it for me, though. While she is no Kim, it's the next best thing. Plus, she's cute. Yes, I said cute!
6. Lady(Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition)
Number 6 is the apple in Dante's eye, or is it the fly in Dante's ointment? I never got to the end of DMC 3. Anyway, this woman, who seeks to avenge the death of her mother has a great look, a great personality, and she has A BIG FREAKIN GUN! Nuff Said.
5. Jenny(GUN:Showdown)
Playing GUN was immersing myself into one of my favorite movie genres: Westerns. As Colton White, you explore the western towns of New Empire and Dodge City, along with the plains and mountains. Along the way, you meet a young woman named Jenny, the "Hostess" of the Alhambra. Both charming and skilled with a shotgun, it was a tragedy when she's murdered so early in the game. While tragic, it gives more incentive to you to hunt down Magruder and company and share your pain with lots and lots of lead bullets.
4. Miss Spencer(Rumble Roses XX)
3 Words: HOT.FOR.TEACHER. Seeking troublesome student Candy Cane, Miss Spencer joins Rumble Roses to bring her back to school. Yep, I'm using the original game's story, since the new one has none. I don't give a damn. All I care about is the hotness of Miss Spencer. You should too.
3. Tie: Ashelia B'nargin Dalmasca/Fran(Final Fantasy XII)
With Final Fantasy 12, not only did it remove the old battle system with a fresher perspective, we also got rid of the one element that plagued previous installments: A sappy as hell love story! . Ashelia is the princess who seeks to liberate her kingdom from the oppressive Archadian Empire. She doesn't, as mentioned before, fall under the trap of being the leading love interest to the main character(That falls on Penelo, although it isn't really love interest of Vaan and is more of a close friend here). A Princess in a game that doesn't rely on the effeminate male character to come to the rescue? INCONCEIVABLE! And that's why I love her.
Dealing with Fran, she plays the Chewie to Balthier's Han Solo. And what a Chewie she plays! A skilled pilot and mechanic, she can handle herself in combat with the bow and arrow. I know that she isn't a Hume(human), but you can't get rid of the notion that you seen her before on this world, most notably in the grotto at the Playboy mansion. Or is that just me?
2. Lara Croft(Tomb Raider: Legend)
Reinventing something is never easy, especially one as old....er....classic as the tomb raider Lara Croft. However, this one was an important one, seeing as all the sequals to her debut hit were worse and worse than the last. With "Tomb Raider: Legend" we have the reinvention of one of the icons of the Playstation era getting a new look and new life in the series. Also, the new Lara looks hot as hell. Sorry, Had to say it.
1. Princess Zelda(Legend of Zelda:Twilight Princess)
The Legend of Zelda: The series that is associated with excellence(unless you count the Phillips CD stuff, and we never do!). With the new entry, "Twilight Princess", we see Zelda surrender to the villainous Twilight King, Zant and trapped in a tower in Hyrule Castle. You'd think these princesses would learn to get some security systems installed or locks or something. Things go wrong, with her body getting controlled by both Midna(by choice) and Ganondorf (by force). You save her in the end, but you can't seal the deal. What is it with Nintendo heroes and commitment issues?
