I have a 360 and will get a Wii when I can find one, however PS3 will have to wait until I don't have to sacrafice two car payments to afford it. Especially now that GTA and Metal Gear aren't exclusives anymore. Sony has gotten so egotistical it's ridiculous, I can imagine now the head of Sony sitting on a throne dismissing peasents who dare question him into the dungeons as an example to all. I also won't lie though, I will eventually get the PS3's. However it will not be until they lower the price and have a game I care about that I can't get anywhere else. I'd like some proof that Metal Gear is no longer an exclusive.

I don't get this logic. The 360 had a crapty launch too. Their launch titles all sucked dick except for maybe call of duty 2 at the time. And now, PS3 launches with a similarly abysmal selection of launch titles, but they have resistance: fall of man, or whatever. I mean it's decent to say they launched crapty, thats acceptable, but to say they have too much ground to cover and all this other bullcrap, is just stupid. I understand you guys hate sony, but give me a huging break. They can do whatever they want and continue to sucker people out of money, to the end of time. And I'm still on the boat that the wii is popular right now, but in a couple of years time they will run out of creative ideas for games. There's only so much you can do with a huging magic wand. That's just me though. I will still end up buying it for the fun 3 to 4 months I will have with it. But to suggest it's going to topple the sony empire, is quite frankly, ridiculous. Just give them as much time as Microsoft has had to make their console worth anything, and then I think that's a fair amount of time to pass judgement. 6 weeks is not enough time to comment on jack crap. I have only owned three systems in my life. A Genesis, a N64, and a PS2. I love my PS2, it's a great system. I have nothing against Sony, I have everything against their business practices. I'm sorry, but your argument holds no water. 360 is a different beast entirely, it launched alone. It's launch was a failure, and it is reeling from it. The 360 is selling below expectations, demand is down, and the games arn't coming out. Things promised at the launch haven't happened. In fact their launch was a bunch of empty promises, and crappy hardware. People don't trust them, they arn't on track. Not all is well in Microsoft Land. The PS3 had the same problems out of the gate, only demand is even LOWER. We shouldn't be seeing PS3's in stores, just like we can't see the Wii. The prices on ebay are low now with only a 100 dollar profit. The PS2 sold for much more if you remember. Can PS3 come back? Yes. Am I announcing its doom? No, but it sure as hell ain't winning this generation. They have managed to do what Microsoft was smart not to do, they have insulted the intelligence of their base. Many people who have a PS2, are probably not getting a PS3. Will the price go down? Yes. Will there be more games? Yes. Will it be too little to late? I think so. Will there be a PS4? You can bet your ass. Now as for the Wii, I take it you haven't played it? I guess you also shun those crappy game pads. I mean, how much can you do with a motionless controller that has a D-Pad (made by Nintendo), an Analog stick (or two, innovated by Sony), Rumble (nintendo), Shoulder buttons, (nintendo) ect. They can only be fun for, maybe three months. By the way, the Wii has much of what I just listed off. Only it has motion sensitivity. I can make the same argument for gamepads. Your response? IT'S FUN! You can do things with it! It's just a different configuration of a controller. It differentiates Nintendo from Sony and Microsoft (which owe their controllers to Nintendo and SEGA respectively. SEGA also owes theres to Nintendo as well so..........). Look at the DS, they did the same thing and people arn't realizing "wow this is just a crappy gimmick me want PSP! The screen is so large!" No, the games are fun in a new way. This is why Nintendo made a smart business decision, they have dissassociated themselves with Microsoft and PS3, and will not be caught in the carnage.

Maybe you missed the original post, but there's tons of proof that Sony has dug themselves into a hole. They aren't sitting in a position of power anymore. As for the Wii, do you forget that it also comes with a classic controller as well? So even if a developer wanted, they could make a game that uses that as well. Plus to say that there's "Only so much you can do" is total BS. Would you rather be able to freely move the controller and press two buttons to do something or somehow manipulate 2 analog sticks, a D-Pad, 4 shoulder/trigger buttons, and 4 face buttons with just you thumbs and index fingers? It's addition by subtraction. Nintendo simplified controls and, but virtue of that decision, given developers (who, btw, are very excited about the Wii, something you can't say about the PS3) more freedom in their games.

I said to heck with all of the next gen systems and got a PSP for christmas. I'm having fun with it. We haven't even touched on the flop that was. The UMD bombed horribly and the DS, the "gimmick" handheld is crushing it. In fact, you could point to the PSP as being the first sign of Sony's mortality. That was the first time since they entered the game market that they lost. I've got a DS too, so it's no real sweat off of me. So long as I have a good library of games I like for the thing, I'm happy with the PSP, afterall, I've got portable GTA and MGS, woot.

I don't think I'm going to get anything. Maybe a N64, and an XBox, as I haven't ever played either.

I wasn't an Xbox guy frankly because it didn't have my type of games. All it had really was shooters, and I don't like shooters. Especially the first person variety. But I have to admit, 360 is looking better and better.
But looking at everything I think Wii will provide me with more than enough entertainment that I won't need it. But who knows, it might land some killer exclusives.

C'mon, don't tell me you all didn't feel a great swell of Sony-Pride when Kaz Hirai told us the tale of the "Giant Enemy Crab"? HIT HIS WEAK POINT FOR MASSIVE DAMAGE! In all seriousness, I hate to say this, as I don't want to sound like some lame fanboy or something, but there's a big part of me that wants Sony to fail. One the one hand, no, I don't really feel that way: the more competition there is in the market, the more it benefits the consumer. I never lose sight of that. However, deep down, I really dislike a lot of what Sony's done to gaming. First off, they brought in their idea of "built-in obsolescence" to their video game division, which is awful; the idea of making a machine built to break after an approximate amount of years disgusts me. For God's sake, I have a Game Boy from 1989, and it still works. Why shouldn't the PS2 do the same 5-10 years from now? Secondly, I also dislike a lot of the "changes" they've brought to gaming. To me, someone who was raised with a NES controller as a pacifier (I kid, I kid), and a Genesis controller nearby during my grade school years, I feel like, once Sony got prominent, some of the fun got taken out of gaming. To me, the PS3 is the epitome of what Sony's done over the last few years: go for power, go for flash, go for spectacle, skimp on the substance. And let's not even get into biting off other companies for "innovations". Dual Shock was bad enough, but anyone else notice how, soon as the Wiimote was unveiled, Sony suddenly jumped up and started screaming "LOOK! LOOK! Now WE have a controller that moves stuff, too!"? Dear Jebus. Again, I don't like looking for a company to fail, as it would likely only hurt me in the long run, but I'll be damned if I don't feel Sony had this a long-time comin'. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. There's not much I can add to that, except that I'm glad that I'm not the only one who noticed Sony's sudden decision to get rid of the force feedback in favor of the "motion sensor" control after Nintendo showcased how it works on the Wii. That just screams of copycat. Sony is like the Vince McMahon we know today. They're both very arrogant and think they're the only true competition in town, and for that, I'd like to see someone pull the rug out from beneath them.

Agreed 100%, at E3 2004 they said "THE VIDEOGAME WAR IS OVER" From that moment on all I've seen is the other 2 companies prove them wrong again and again

I don't care for brands or fancy gadgets that let you play your games 3 houses away with your feet, I just care for games and if XBox keeps getting the Grand Theft Auto and SmackDown! series (which were my Sony selling points), then I'll go with that, as they also have the Call of Duty and Medal of Honor series as well, because I'm not shelling out $600 for a video game system, that's just rediculous

In terms of Launch games the 360 was great.
- Dead or Alive 4 - Perfect Dark zero - Call of Duty 2 - Condemned: Criminal origins - Quake 4 (I think it was launch)
Definatly one of the more solid Launch line up's, Shame the console launch was a cockup.
The PS3 pissed me off because Sony were being SO smug and giving (Untrue) potshots at the other 2 consoles.

Now THAT is huggin funny! And yet, it is oh so true. I still haven't picked up one of the next-gen systems, but I'm tossed up between buying a 360 or a Wii. I'm not even considering a PS3.
