I've got really back into buying DVDs and Blu Rays the last few months right before Christmas.
I find a lot of fun in searching out stuff and hitting the right places you can find some great bargains, I have places that offer 5 for £1, 10 for a £1, and once place that as 20 for a £1, (£1 is currently 1.26USD) and sometimes there is crazy cheap stuff in there
for the cost of 5p today I picked up a 6 disc Resident Evil boxset as well as Breaking Bad Season 5 and Meg 2 in the 20 for £1 (you have to shift through a lot of crap and stuff that is stupidly scratched).
I'll probably boring-ly keep up to date with notable new additions on here

I've said it a few times, but I wish WWE would do special collector's edition releases of notable PPVs. Like WM3 is an obvious choice, but throw in some special features, some things like replica stickers or event posters, etc. I'm such a sucker for those things.

Normally Friday/Saturdays are my good days physical media hunting. Got a local junkstore that is 50 cents for a DVD/Blu/4k.
Found nothing, was suprised. Usually I can find a tv show set for 50 cents i can flip for 5 or 10 bucks. Nope all they had was the same Beverly hillbillies PD collections I see all over.
Best deal lately was her and I found first 4 seasons of Entourage and first 3 of Tru Blood and was 10 bucks total.
Like 10 years ago the local area was flooded with cheap used CDs. I found all kinds of stuff for a quarter or maybe a buck tops. And even oddball things like a Cock Sparrer tribute album. Or this semi hard to find Skinny Puppy Remix CD.

The reason is because some boutique Blu-ray companies are upgrading some of their titles to 4K so some Blu-rays of the same titles are getting ridiculous discounts. To top it off the difference between Blu-ray and 4K may be indistinguishable to the human eye depending on your set up. Last year Ralph Tribbey who has been tracking physical media since before DVDs existed did an interview with the Cereal at Midnight podcast and mentioned the differences between formats. From VHS to DVD: 100% improvement and a complete game changer. Anyone can tell the difference. From DVD to Blu-ray: 10% improvement. Just about anyone can tell the difference. I don’t think he gave a number from Blu-ray to 4K outside of saying it was even less of a difference. Elsewhere I’ve read that 4Ks absolutely improve the picture, but the difference is so fine in the details that the human eye can’t detect them, especially if you don’t have a HUGE top shelf flatscreen.

Can we fit in vinyls? Cause I've been on a kick with that. My MO seems to be regaining records my family used to have (this would include Linda Ronstadt's Heart Like A Wheel, Let The Good Times Roll -- the concert/documentary, and the Disney picture-disc albums) and ones of personal interest (anything with my girls on them...Dusty, Petula, etc. etc.) I did find the vinyl version of one of those Tee Vee Toons' Television's Greatest Hits collections this past weekend.
I used to hang out at a local Half Price Books a lot a few years back, and always enjoyed digging through their vinyl section to see if anything caught my eye. I ended up finding a copy of Twisted Sister's "Stay Hungry" for dirt cheap, then took it to a horror convention a few months after that and got Dee Snider to autograph it.

I've got a CD/DVD "dual disc" of Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2. One side of the disc is the DVD of the movie, the other side is a CD of the movie's original score plus a song or two from the soundtrack. It's the only DVD I've ever seen like that. And yeah, Blair Witch 2 sucks, but I keep the DVD mainly because I've never seen it released anywhere beyond its initial VHS and DVD releases in 2000. It's never been released on Blu-ray or streaming anywhere that I can tell, and even when Lionsgate puts out multi-pack releases of the Blair Witch movies, it's usually just the original and the third one.
I've also got a box set of the Sleepaway Camp movies released by Anchor Bay in 2002. The version I have came in a box made to look like a first aid kit with the Red Cross logo on it, and it was discontinued (and apparently actually even recalled, from what I've heard) after the Red Cross filed a complaint. It was re-released a few months later with altered box art. I found the Red Cross version at a local flea market for 20 bucks, which was an absolute steal because it currently goes from anywhere between $175 to $500 on eBay.
The only Dualdisc media I have is of The Offspring’s Greatest Hits.

OK, did THIS DVD release have the Rustin Parr 'documentary' as a special feature? When the first one came out, there was the 'Curse of the Blair Witch' that came with it, the made-for-TV hour long show that was on a separate video tape and was pretty good. When the DVD came out, that was a special feature on it. When 2 came out on video, there was a companion tape about the serial killer, and I remember NO ONE saw it (except me). And yet I can't find a copy.

Unfortunately not. The only special features on the DVD are a commentary by the director (who isn't shy about completely shitting on the finished movie during said commentary), another commentary over certain scenes by the score's composer, a video of a band performing their contribution to the soundtrack, and some weird ass thing called "The Secret of Esrever." They added a bunch of subliminal messages to certain scenes on the DVD, and if you decoded what the messages spelled out and entered it into the Blair Witch website, you could watch some deleted scenes and add your name to a list of people who figured it out:
There's also some DVD-ROM features, but since the laptop I'm using doesn't have a DVD drive, I don't know what those features are.

I was able to check off another one that’s been on my watchlist for over 20 years today. This one from Troma: I just always loved that the title was so porntastic and an obvious reference to Star Wars. On top of that, there’s no actual original Star Worms! Fortunately I was able to watch this on disc. As far as I know the VHS is very rare and Troma has never released this movie as a stand-alone feature on DVD or Blu-ray. Instead the whole movie is included as a bonus feature on the release for Actium Maximus (2005). I’ll probably watch Actium Maximus next, but Star Worms is definitely what made me pick today’s disc

picked up 20 DVDs in the 10 for a £1, most of them are run of the mill but wanted to add to my collection
among those I picked up where Game of Thrones Season 1, Mr. Bean 4 disc set (as well as a 2 disc set of the movies), and a couple of horror movies.
next stop I picked up a bunch in a 5 for a £1
among the stuff I picked up was The Firm (Gary Oldman), Desperately Seeking Susan, Agatha Raison Series 1, Romper Stomper, The Naked Civil Servant, 70s war documentary Hearts & Minds and Australian releases of The Castle and Hunt for the Wilderpeople.
I got 35 purchases all together for the total of £5.

I was planning to go on a Troma physical media kick, but Actium Maximus ended up being so bad it put that in jeopardy. Fortunately, my upgraded Toxic Avenger box set arrived in the mail today, so I went from one of the very worst Troma titles to one of the very best with the original Toxic Avenger. I then put on Toxic Avenger 2 and will continue my Troma physical media kick with a rewatch of the rest of the series. It’s been so long since I’ve seen these movies, the last time I watched them it was definitely on DVD and I don’t even think the Blu-rays were out yet. The picture on these look great

Super stoked about Dune Part Two. I've slowed down on collecting in recent months (gotta a trip to Disney with my wife I'm paying off) but I'll definitely get that once it drops.

Speaking of Dune the import release of the original that includes the extended TV version and theatrical cut is mighty tempting. I’d snap it up if it weren’t for the hefty price tag. Actually more than the price is that as it is I have a slew of boutique releases on my unwatched pile and I still watch DVDs I bought for $0.99 or less instead lol.

I have a pretty sizeable DVD collection separate from my 4K/Blu-Rays because we had this local place called BuyBacks that would sell used DVDs and they threw some outrageous 15 for $30 sales.

Hit a local store that sometimes will do half off on media sale days.
For 2 bucks got on DVD IP Man 2,IP Man 3 Bacholer Party Boardheads
Seen BP before and love it. Boardheads is a remake of Hardbodies I learned. And if IP Man 2 and 3 are half as good as the first this is 2 bucks welll spent.

Loretta Swit playing the "milf" landlord is something I didn't think I would see before.

It’s the movie I expected Hardware to be. Both are a lot of fun, but they are just very different types of movies
