www.youtube.com/watch?v=aAQPbOGpXYMHe's honest about it and that it could have been better. I feel like since they have similar movesets that the match wouldn't be that interesting, like if Jimmy switched up to using more submissions for example. But then again Jimmy was seen as comedy relief/fall guy since the split with Jey last year. I think I realized I didn't want to see the match after their brief encounter at the Rumble this year, it just seemed flat to me.

It took too long to get there, with Jimmy having not done enough to differentiate himself as a singles guy, and also didn't exactly benefit from just much better, higher-stakes matches at 'Mania. It just made this too little, too late.

The match was terrible, but I've seen Jey have enough good matches with others to not hold it against him too much. Jimmmmy is a tag guy through and through.

Expectation: Nobody should have been expecting a match of that caliber from a Main Eventer and the Job Guy for The Bloodline, and anyone who did had unrealistic expectations. It was never going to be good.

I can't believe Rikishi gave birth to a good worker and a mid worker at the same time.

So, I guess we can officially say that Jimmy is the Jannetty of The Usos?

Jimmy had no juice behind his character, and Jey is at the hottest point of his career. It felt like a step down for Jey, and the quality of the match (a bore) didn’t help matters. Jimmy as an act is done until they decide to reform the Usos.

besides the match being a complete piece of shit, they downplayed how important this match COULD have been at one point in regards to the bloodline as an entity. you spent years building up to that match being important and all I'm going to remember from it is jimmmmmmmmmy's terrible acting during the match, jimmy yelling at his daughter mid match to get off her phone while the match is going on and bailing out Daddy Ass vs. Jay White.
i feel bad for him not getting the match he want and i'm sure jimmmmmmmmmy wanted to as well but that shit straight up sucked. i'm sure eddie murphy felt bad about making pluto nash too.

I mean can we really put all the blame on Jimmy? There's been worse talent out there that have had better matches. It was bad, but more in a boring way than sloppy way. To me it really lacked storytelling when it is was so damn easy. Them drawing 1 and 2 in the rumble really didn't mean anything in regards to the match. They waited way too long to make the match official for mania and didn't really have a lot of build that it could have easily should have. I guess it would have been redundant with the ladder match, street fight, and Bloodline rules, but the match could have been great if it was a months long build culminating in "tribal combat" and include the spot they did on night 2.

It especially sucks because it was a rare brother v brother match at a milestone WM. 10 had Bret/Owen, 25 had Matt/Jeff, and 40 had this one. I thought for sure they wrestled on a random Superstars or something in 2010, but that was Tyson Kidd/DH Smith I must've been thinking of. They came up in 2010 and somehow WWE kept them away from a singles match, so here it is...and it just feels off & never gets out of first gear. It's like that Stardust/Goldust match at Fastlane. Hopefully they one day can reconcile it.

I have only seen the clip of his kid not watching and that suggests this feud isn't even over with the blood relatives of the Bloodline

Longtime tag partners just don't have good feuds/matches. As I've said before, the wrestling angle that never works is the losing-streak-turning-face angle, and then right behind it are the former-tag-partners feud. (NOT faction members, but specifically when the two guys of two man teams feud)
Zayn/Generico-Owens/Steen and Janetty-Michaels and *maybe* Big Boss Man vs Akeem* are the exceptions. Matt and Jeff really didn't have all-timer matches until the 2016 Broken feud. I think people are mis-remembering how poorly received the Hardyz's Mania and Backlash matches were (not as bad as the Uso one was, and to be fair I've always thought positively of them and they've aged well, but people were down on them and the angle in general) Edge and Christian didn't really have the feud/matches they were capable of together until years later in AEW. Bret and Owen were brothers but didn't tag on WWF television until, what, the previous autumn? (not including the Memphis heel run that previous summer)
Nobody wants to see a tag team they like wrestle each other more than they'd want to see them wrestling together. Yes, the former tag partners feuding is unfortunately a trope, but the results have always, ALWAYS been so poor I can't understand why its become one for any reason other than it's the hackiest easiest thing to pitch. Booker T vs Stevie Ray, Road Dogg vs Billy Gunn, Bubba Ray vs D-Von, etc. They just don't click.
*This I hesitate to include as, while it was tag partners feuding, the feud was Boss Man vs their shared manager Slick driving the conflict when he wouldn't pay him for returning DiBiase's Million Dollar Belt on the road to Wrestlemania VI.
