This should have played out as The LWO watching the footage. Carlito back there eating his apple. Then they turn to him to be like, "wth bro!?" Then he spits in the face of people who don't want to be cool, does the backstabber, and runs off.

Rey's problem is seeing the best side of bad people and trusting them.
Eddie lies, cheats and steals proudly and Rey figures, hmm I should trust this dude.
Batista was part of a group of bastards who regularly cheated to win and he only left them because they turned on him.
Carlito has a move called the backstabber and his friend stabbed John Cena.
Santos maybe should have been consulted about adding new members, but no decent person does what he did to Rey because of that.
Dominik turned on him because he got some action from a dominatrix and assaulted Rey in his own home.

I will give you that his recent penchant for teanmg with people who aren't in the lwo doesn't look great. However, an adult would have had a conversation with Rey, not done what Carlito did.

It was really funny live because we knew it was Carlito for a bit before they cut back live so Carlito was just kind of standing behind the others shifting and shrugging. He had no idea what to do until they were on camera again. Made the LWO look dumb mostly because they didn’t immediately turn around and confront him

I do not. He's basically been the exact same since he debuted to now with zero indication he's getting any push beyond this.

I’d say for sure. His whole turn and the ensuing angle has leveled him up. Dragon Lee has had his profile raised as well. It’s just a matter of following through on it.

I guess it's somewhat subjective but, from the heel turn to the mic work to leading his own faction to the Judgment Day interaction to the Wrestlemania match, it seems like Escobar has raised his status since initially linking up with Rey.

Santos hasn't been improved from this whole feud except for when he went nuts at Rey right around November or so. It's been nearly another half year of heatless matches, boring storylines and most of the crowd knowing this guy rules but being given zero reason to care about him.

This whole thing should've stayed exclusively Rey vs. Santos and Santos should've beat the brakes off Rey at Mania. If you really needed to put another member over, have Dragon Lee/Andrade beat Dom in their own match at Mania or the Smackdown before, this shit has helped no one.
