I'm also using "warm cheat meals and chilled tequila" as the excuse why i don't show up to anything anymore.

All secured bags now come with an expensive personalised gift from The Rock, paid for with the contracts of five undercarders. Seth gets one of Liberace's actual jackets when he signs his new contract. Seth is told to pick any one thing and Rock will arrange for him to be allowed to burn it down.

I would have loved to see what Drew could do with a little more freedom but yeah WWE kind of had to re-sign him his work was too good for them not to. The current climate is one where the idea of retaining talent and what talent you keep and make plays for is going to be under a lot of scrutiny, the optics of losing Drew while he's on fire justify whatever he asked for alone.

very surprised they didn't keep it under wraps so they could do a MITB style storyline at the Castle show but good for him, he's absolutely killing it and one of the best things in wrestling right now where he is Given they haven't made a massive song and dance about it, I assume that was probably the plan. But you have to take the rough with the smooth. The Rock is great for business and (imo) wildly entertaining. But he's also the kind of guy that'll send you a gift but will also have a guy there filming it for his socials. Anyway, cool to see. He's still young enough to do whatever he wants in the future. But this Punk stuff is huge right now.

Now please let him be the actual champion and don't feed him to CM Punk
Because I'm gonna be honest the thought of Drew losing to Punk at this point is depressing as all hell.

If I were to guess it's more likely that Drew drops the belt to Seth who then defends it against Punk if things hold without incident. Can't see them really wanting to bank on strapping Punk up when he's gotten injured in three of his last four big matches.

My biggest take away from the video was I hope Drew noticed his jacket fell on the floor.

Congrats to Drew. I actually think he’s better as a character now than he was in 2020 when they planned to coronate him, so glad he got his WM title win in front of fans and now can have an extended run with this current character.

Him winning the title at Clash in Scotland would be an amazing moment.
It would've been kind of awkward if he didn't re-sign and that was his last show. You couldn't really put him in the main event because Glasgow might riot if he lost which he'd have to if he was leaving. So if he was on his way out and they wanted a nice moment for him it couldn't really be anything too important because he can't go over any tippy top guy. I guess it would've been similar to Edge's farewell maybe even down to the same opponent. A win over Sheamus with their history and a nice final moment in his home country but no big world title win or top level feud.
I'm guessing the Raw world title over the next year or so is Priest gets a run for a couple months, Drew wins in Scotland, Drew/Punk feud then if Punk's body holds up you get to the Seth/Punk feud that was supposed to happen.

Hope he gets a proper World title reign at Clash at the Castle now.

Honestly I wouldn’t mind seeing a double turn with Drew and Punk at Summerslam. Drew wins the title in a huge standing ovation, becomes a tweener after and then Punk cheats to win the title at Summerslam

I'm surprised he was able to get a 3 year deal when they usually push for a longer term commitment.

I'm surprised he was able to get a 3 year deal when they usually push for a longer term commitment. He had quite the leverage given his recent work so I’m not too surprised. I’d imagine most top stars will be pushing for shorter deals.

I'm surprised he was able to get a 3 year deal when they usually push for a longer term commitment. AEW being willing to offer comparable deals (in money terms at least) means someone on Drews level can pretty much get anything they want.

This is why, regardless of whether you like them or not, AEW is good for the business.
