When they won't only ask you about how HOT WWE is: When you play “I’m So Bad Baby I Don’t Care” by Motorhead and people start giggling when Lemmy screams “I MAKE LOVE TO MOUNTAIN LIONS”

It is pretty funny that the point of these press conferences is probably to come off as more legitimate but all they do is really prove how it really isn’t. Either go full work or let journalists do their jobs, same goes with AEW even if HHH is so much worse at this for someone who has been around for decades. Just send Cody up there or someone who can actually talk to the media. Bald fraud sucks at it. Yeah, I don't think the scrums are a good idea for either company unless they're works. Though the wrestlers who tend to do both at least tend to be in character. Like a heel wrestler being openly hostile to the press pool at least can be explained by "they're a villain and they're not supposed to be nice." Or someone like Bryan Danielson who brings his bizarre personality into these things where it can be oddly entertaining.
Really, WWE should just let Cody run the post-show scrums. Dude is an incredible PR guy who can not only give you good answers, but is also really good at telling stories. He can say a whole lot of nothing and still be really intriguing about it. And he won't lose his temper at the smallest hint of adversity.
all it comes across as is either HHH preening when even the diehards are sick of it or him getting pissy about random shit. sure Tony has his moments of awkwardness which leads to advertising the show. HHH gets these valid questions and just absolutely loses his mind or gets pissed like the show isn't a work. do you know how bad you gotta be at this to prefer a PR/Marketing style response of "business is good" over the alternative that HHH gives? dude has constantly looked like an idiot up there over the last few months and I say that as someone who quite likes the shows. put Cody up there or hell even Nick Khan. I'd get the goosebumps having to listen to Nick that often but at least he can run the PR mile.

You mix that with a bunch of journalists that are afraid of having their credentials pulled and you get stuff like this. If Levesque doesn't like you, you should wear that with honor, God forbid you do your job.

I don't want to have to hate their shows because the people running the shows don't know how to not be assholes. But it feels like they just can't help constantly poisoning the well.

I'm just really frustrated because I hoped that with Vince leaving, and Cody as the face of the company, a lot of the [Stuff We Don't Talk About] implications would start to fade away, even if it was a slow process. But the people remaining still being so defensive and insular, and Hunter in particular not knowing how to respond to anything in a way that isn't lashing out in a way that resonates to people who are [Stuff We Don't Talk About]... *sighs* I just want multiple viable TV companies without it having to be a "Good (or at least "Trying to be Good") vs. Evil" situation.

Incase anyone was curious what would happen at the next Press Conference.
Here is what happened.
There was no press conference with the Saudi media.
Makes me thing if they are pulling this thing back then I guess.

If they don't do one after Scotland, then yeah, because looks like they could be done with them outside of Wrestlemania of course. Jury will still be out for now.

TKO higher-ups: Paul you keep saying dumb shit, so we're not having a press conference after King of the Ring. Triple H: We're not doing press conferences? TKO higher-ups: No we are, just not this time so you don't say something that steals headlines from OUR HAPPY COOPERATION WITH THE WONDERFUL AND WELCOMING AND PEACEFUL AND PROGRESSIVE NATION OF SAUDI ARABIA COME VISIT THESE SCENIC AND MODERN CITIES.

Good call not to do a Triple H presser today so he doesn't accidentally cause an international incident.

I'm a bit shocked on some of these responses even as WWE defender posts.
The fact and the matter of press conferences is that journalists' main goal is to get a good quote and a good story out of it. It doesn't even matter whether we think the journalists are going to ask good questions - it's that if you are coming to a press conference to answer questions, you have to be prepared to answer the stupid ones and the good ones and the puff ones in equal measure. Wrestling press is so craven and attached to their backstage passes, or historically has been, that when they start mildly acting like actual journalists for once WWE can't handle it at all, which for a promotion the age of WWE is just flatly pathetic. As others have said - either do these things kayfabe, be prepared to answer questions about allegations levelled publicly at your talent, or stop having them at all
