When Red Dwarf lost Chris Barry so replaced Rimmer with a re-cast Kristine Kochanski who had negative on screen chemistry with every other character. Chloe Annett is no Clair Grogan.

Is been 30 years now since they took over for Jason, Trini and Zack. This was a very polarizing decision in 1994, how does everyone feel today? Is Rocky the better Red Ranger? Aisha the better Yellow Ranger? Adam the better Black Ranger?

Aisha the better Yellow Ranger? Adam the better Black Ranger? Adam became an equal if not better Ranger than Zack, Aisha lacked Trini's heart given Trini was the one who helped keep the team together.
Rocky just had no chance at following Jason's footsteps, although he did redeem himself later on in the Ninja Steel special

Draymond trying to replace Shaq or Chuck on Inside the NBA.
It's worth the death of the show to avoid that nightmare.

Ray Kowalski replacing Ray Vecchio in Due South. I get that the actor for Vecchio was unavailable because the show had been cancelled, then revived and filming commitments stopped him from coming back. Still, I always preferred the original Ray.

Oliver from Coupling. Replaced the funniest character in the show with a really dull, badly written projection of Steven Moffat's issues with being a sci fi nerd. Also gets super biphobic towards the end of the series, too. Yes, yes, yes! How did I forget HIM? I mean I tried to get through S4, guess I wanted to be optimistic that the show wasn't dead. But yes, this and the US version were in retrospect the final nails in the coffin. The shoot comment about "this is not an American sitcom!" aside. And keeping the show going with no Richard Coyle was a brain fart in general. Just have a one-off reunion special where they wrap up Susan's pregnancy, etc. etc. when everyone was available. But didn't Moffat piss off Coyle or vice versa somehow? Moffat was nasty about him on one of the commentary tracks of one of the previous season's DVDs. As far as the last point, TBF a LOT of Coupling doesn't age well now. Just to give you an idea, the above would be like Henry Winkler leaving Happy Days and being replaced by Jon Bauman.

Adam ended up being great but yeah, Aisha ended up getting replaced in the worst way possible and Rocky lost his spot to a kid. Pretty much says everything about that trio.

Considering Tommy essentially became the defacto leader by that point, Rocky was essentially pointless. Adam was my boy though, went from pretending to be the Blue Ranger to being the Black Ranger as a kid.

I never got into the M*A*S*H replacements, honestly. I am the opposite. I can't get into an early season with McLean and especially Wayne Rogers. Harry Morgan and Mike Farrell really made the cast ensemble complete IMO. Even though Hawkeye is supposed to be the main guy, I don't really see it that way. I didn't mind Larry Linville or David Ogden Stiers but I do feel David, at least from the character development worked better with the team. I won't totally blame Wayne or McLean for my dislike. It's probably mostly the writing in the first three seasons. Probably more centered around stories or humor an adult would like versus a kid, which is when I first found the show.

Tori replaces Jessie and Kelly.
Something always seemed off about those SBTBs.

Same, I think its because the early years, you had 3 guys on the same side. You had Hawkeye, his best friend who never really did anything to stand out, and the pushover boss. Later you actually had character dynamics. Potter was a cool old guy, but he was an old guy, and he was in charge and that meant something. Honeycutt was the best friend, but he was a clean cut family man with ethics so you had different ways things could play. Actually one of my favourite episodes was them redoing an earlier one. Crazy general, so Hawkeye says they take out his appendix for no reason so he can't send soldiers out. Trapper does it no problem, BJ refuses and totally chews him out for performing unnecessary surgery going against everything doctors are meant to stand for.

Would those Sanford and Son episodes that dont have Fred or Lamont but instead have Grady in the lead role count? I watched one of those and I spent the whole episode wondering where Fred was.

Dave Coulier for Lorenzo Music as Peter Venkman.
Granted, a LOT of this is because he was given significantly worse material. That isn't Dave's fault, and he's been perfectly fine in a lot of voice acting roles I've seen him in. But, when you compare him to Lorenzo Music, Lorenzo's dry delivery was just plain funnier.

I didn't bother to see, but I'm going to assume whoever replaced Abby on NCIS sucked by comparison. I didn't either. No Abby, no watch. Speaking of NCIS, the New Orleans spinoff replacing Meredith Brody with that loathsome Tammy Gregorio. That was the season I stopped watching. Apparently it got worse from there. Abby's replacement. Kasie, is... okay. She's not bad, but she basically walked into some gigantic shoes and there was no way she'd be able to fill them for most fans. It's kind of the same thing for the guy who replaced Gibbs; he's actually pretty decent, but he's also not Gibbs, for better and worse. As for NCIS: New Orleans, I'm just convinced that entire show was cursed. And then they gave the curse to NCSI: Hawaii.

Who did Nikki and Paulo replace on Lost? I feel they were standing in for characters we at least didn't see much of that time of that season.
But at least the writers eventually knew that, and...you know.
Only fair cause I did it in the Good Replacements (with Millar Rose replacing Stelfox Rose in Keeping Up Appearances), now here's a bad one...
Non-Julia Butters Anna Kat replaces Original Anna Kat on American Housewife.
Man that last season was a clusterfreak.

What I meant was, at least Peter Venkman was Peter Venkman with a new voice. This seemed more like Janine's nice sister, also named Janine, was coming in to replace original Janine.
