Pro wrestling is often regarded as low brow entertainment. I think WWE needs to do something to change this stereotype.
WWE should do one PLE every year that they treat like a gala. Male fans that attend will have to wear suits and ties, and female fans will wear fancy dresses. Chandeliers will be hung from the arena rafters, and ball room music will play during matches.
This would be a lot more classy than typical pro wrestling shows and change the public's perception of WWE.

Good idea. Holding a wrestling event in a ballroom guarantees the classiest of fans!

Not a funny answer, but in the last 10 or so years, I feel like WWE has done as much as they possibly can to "class up" wrestling. It still is a fundamentally ridiculous form of entertainment, but it has as much social acceptance from non-fans and media as it likely ever will.
And the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony is similar to what you're talking about.
Also the fun of pro wrestling is putting together a scenario like you described, like they would in Hollywood or real sports, only for everything to go horribly wrong and lead to chaos. That's what makes it what it is.

The last match in No Holds Barred is like that and it always killed me in that "This is Vince's dream for what wrestling could be, everyone in fancy suits and dresses watching Hulk Hogan fight a dude to the death where a TV exec also gets electrocuted" sort of way.

This would be John Cena's favorite PPV ever.

Samus would beat Charlotte's record number of women's title reigns.

More top hats and monocles for the guys. Elbow gloves and corset dresses for the gals.
Or vice versa. I'm not too picky.

they're chanting we want samus! Only tangentially awful but I once had a dream where Samus showed up, but then took off their helmet to reveal it was in fact John Stamos, who said "I'm Stamos Aran" and the shock of it instantly woke me up, haunted forever.

Didn't St. Louis do something like this wat back in the day? Wrestling at The Chase, IIRC. I remember seeing an old menu where you can get braised beef sauerbraten and bourbon or a Manhattan. So german sausage, booze and grappling for a reasonable rate.

Some pics of Bobby Fish near the middle of his career, he remembers when all wrestling was like that.

All I've ever wanted was a return to the 1987 Slammys and this is how we get there.

Tickets are already pretty expensive as it is, and now you want me to buy a SUIT to watch men in spandex undies violently hug each other? Hell no, I'm cheap as f***!
