To balance the "hated" thread...
In recent times, I'll always go nuts for "[X] Hunk" (the Bachelor spoof). Even more recent, when they had the Dionne Warwick Talk Show.
I'll always mark out for Celebrity Jeopardy! of course.

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler's Weekend Update was a constant hit for me. Which reminds me: REALLY?!!? with Seth and Amy.

Are we talking one-offs, recurring skits or both? I have a mixture of each:
Matt Foley
Scottish Soccer Hooligan Weekly
All Things Scottish
Jingleheimer Junction
Kiss Me, I’m Irish
Oh! (New Jersey game show)
Sandler, Farley and Schneider as the Italian waiters/bellhops
Schoolhouse Rock I’m Just a Bill parody (“I’m an executive order and I pretty much just happen…That’s it!”)
McLaughlin Group (“Wrong!”)

One semi-recent one that I feel is underrated and I loved were the “Inside So Cal” skits. Being So Cal born and raised, the characters were perfect, but I always wondered if you had to be from here in order for them to be really funny. Wish they did more skits.

Yea it was what only really first season, those Muppet segments were good.
Had heard for years how bad they were. Got the DVD sets and over a summer watched first 2 seasons.
As a kid I loved all of Eddie's stuff on SNL. And hated Weekend update. Mostly cause Weekend up date was way over my head.
Really after the mid 80s can't think of a recurring character I loved. There was ones I liked but by their end I was ready for them to not appear again.

I was thinking mainly recurring, as in the Hated thread.

Even though it was a one-note joke, I never didn't laugh at Stefon.
And for the recent episodes, the only consistently funny bit is when Michael Che and Colin Jost swap jokes on Weekend Update.

Matt Foley
Neil Diamond: Story Tellers
Bill Brasky
Celebrity Jeopardy
The Californians
Ian Rubbish and the Bizarros
Farewell, Mr. Bunting
Papyrus
All of Kyle Mooney's meta skits about being unappreciated and getting cut from the show.
I'll also always have a soft spot for the Pogie's Pepperoni sketch Beck and Kyle did because it reminds me of working my own slacker dream job with my best friend.

Being So Cal born and raised, the characters were perfect, but I always wondered if you had to be from here in order for them to be really funny. Wish they did more skits. It was a spiritual successor to a lot of the stuff Kyle Mooney and Beck Bennett did on YouTube before they joined the cast. Lots of really funny stuff in there if you look it up.

"What's up With Dat?" is the same damn joke every time, but it's always hilarious. Matt Damon and Leslie Jones arguing about Weezer. Matt Foley The overacting Negro Ensemble (Kind of a deep cut)

Mr. Robinson's Neighborhood
Not a character but a sketch, the story and death of John David Stutts.
