It's my number three album of 2006. And my number three album of 2005 (it came out in Europe in... February '05 or something). My favorite song is "Boy or Girl?" I still haven't managed to find a copy of Switzerland anywhere, I guess no one bothered to give it a Finnish release at all. I downloaded it and enjoy many of the songs, but I'd much rather have the actual CD. Oh well. Senor Smoke was released here in America in 2k6.

Cobra Starship. When I first heard the Snakes On A Plane song on the local rock station, I thought they were playing Ricky Martin as a rib. Then I saw the video and almost did a spit take. So awful. There's this little douche trying to look sexy, and all these horrible people, and that insufferable guy from Fall Out Boy who is unavoidable. Ugh.

Or SR-71. Both did it. SR-71 first, but Bowling for SOup did the popular version SR-71's version was even worse. Mitch Allan can do much better than that song.

I didn't realize SR-71 did a song about 1985. Although, I only really paid attention to the "Tomorrow" album. It was pretty solid. Bowling for Soup's "1985" feels to me like "Stacy's Mom, Part II." It sucked. EDIT: Didn't realize SR-71 wrote Bowling for Soup's song. That makes both bands seem lamer in my eyes, now.

Gogol Bordello definitely had me cocking my head, going "WTF?!?" in a good way. If you've ever seen them live, you'd also wonder why they opened for Cake.
A bad "WTF?!?" goes to the Arctic Monkeys. Crazy internet buzz for a f***ing rip-off Strokes band? Laaaame.

Musically, 30 Seconds to Mars isn't that bad. But Leto sings like an emo kid.

Actually, I really dig Leto's voice. I think he sings really well.
As for Wesley Willis...well that was just amazing

Panic! at the Disco. I couldn't stand their songs and then I saw a picture of the band and saw how they were a bunch of emo pussies. I can't fathom why they're as popular as they are.

Not a bad band, but one that made me serious WTF: Finntroll. They're one of those European death/black metal bands (I forget the exact definition of which is which and why), with one difference: One of the instruments used in most of their songs is an accordian.

Hinder. I am astonished that a band that sounds so whiny, with a singer who sounds like he's pushing a little too hard on the toilet, got signed, let alone pushed by the label.
Jed Shaffer ~I'd include Nickelback, but their music is like melodic white noise: so indistinct, so bland, it amounts to nothing.

I had a WTF moment when Alien Ant Farm did their cover of "Smooth Criminal".
The only redeeming quality of that video was that kid who wore an MJ glove and covered his face, but his dancing was spot on.
That, and there was a monkey in the video. But that was all that was enjoyable. The rest was crap.

Nothing to get you over with the 15 year olds than a song that advocates drug use and sex, after all! And what lyrical wizardry it is, too. Simply profound. Morons. Nothing will ever top the genius that was Jimmy Buffett singing "Why don't we get drunk and screw?"

How true, Godz. I guess that's what helps Buckcherry (another band that inspires my WTF reaction, and my gag reflex); using vulgarity to sing about drugs and screwing. Almost makes me yearn for the witticism of 2 Live Crew.
Jed Shaffer ~So, if these bands appeal to 15 year olds ... does this mean 15 years olds nowadays are idiots?
