How DARE you even mention the immortal Neo Geo in the same sentence as this... this... To answer the question, not a single one, because Sony decided to postpone the release in Europe until at least March, 2007. And of course we have to pay more for it. The PSP also came out here more than 5 months after the US release, also more expensive, also postponed shortly before release. Sony just loves its customers. I'll never buy anything from them again.

At least 7 or 8 recently. There's a Meijer who's had a few 60 ones sitting behind the case for a few days now and Walmart had a few 20 and 60's sitting around as well. The guy at EB Games says he's having a hard time moving them and had several sitting in the back. I've even been able to find the Wii fairly easily lately. On Thursday Walmart had at least 6 or 7 just sitting behind the cases waiting to be bought. Neither seem to be in that high of a demand here compared to the 360 last year. You had to wait until April to be able to finally get your hands on one of those things last year. Where the heck are you and whens the next ticket out? Ive had the money since about Thanksgiving but every time Best Buy gets them in I have to work (yes, I would actually camp out for one if Id get a day off from work, id just go to sleep when I got home). Anyway, back to the subject. At the Best Buy in Gladstone (not far from KC, in the city limits), there arent any Wii's (obviously and unfortunatley). Someone at work told me there were lots of PS3's, but I just went a couple days ago and found none. I find it amazing everyone is finding so few 360's. They had their little display cones made of 360s where I was...provided they were core systems but there had to have been 20-30 of them easily.

Yes but we love hearing it. If you insist...but if you were being sarcastic, this is on your head. And I'll just give a somewhat watered down version. Was in Best Buy two weekends before Christmas with my daughter. Found a 20 gig model. Put it in the cart. Had the money for it and for about 15 minutes debated on whether or not to get it. Figured I had too much other things that I had to pay for and put it back. No protest from the young 'un. Left Best Buy empty handed and spent the rest of the night thinking I'm getting old. Yeah, I feel you on that "getting old" part. The only one I have seen is the one sitting on top of my television collecting dust as I grumble about not being able to save back to a PS2 Memory Card.

I spent part of the money I'd been saving for a Wii and a flatscreen HDTV on a couch this weekend.

You can only have a shortage if you purposely kept the numbers down or willingly didn't meet demand. I don't even think Nintendo realized they were going to be this much of a commodity. It's not like they did a shortage on purpose (ahem Sony), but yeah. It doesn't bother me as much because I'm not going to get a Nintendo Wii for a while, in the meantime I can just use my friend's and it's all good. EDIT: I just realized that I was saying there is no shortage, which isn't true, I'm just saying Nintendo's shortage is due to demand that outlasted their expectations, whereas Sony knew the demand but didn't care.

I saw a couple, 2 or 3, at a FYE, and a couple more at Best Buy.

Gamestop has playable demos for it, but you (or a parent) have to give up a drivers license for insurance that you wont run off with the wiimote. In other places its just in a case and has a demo vid running My friend has one as well, he debated for a week putting it up on E-Bay then decided against it. Ive only played Excite Truck and Wii Sports on it, and even though I dont have one yet, ive already got $250 tucked away for a Wii then $50 tucked away for Smash Bros. Brawl.

Nintendo said the were shipping a couple million, and have already sold out what they shipped. No one even thought that they would sell out that fast. Whereas Sony said 400,000, then reportedly only shipped 200,000 and now are still below 1,000,000 and people are RETURNING them because the prices on Ebay plummeted. Not only that, Sony's idiocy caused a handful of deaths because people were trying to turn a quick buck.

I work at Best Buy and our store literally is trying to pimp them on customers. We have signs and everything advertising that we have them, yet people rarely buy them. We got just over 30 of them a couple weeks ago, and when I checked on Saturday, we still had about a couple dozen. People just don't want to buy the damn thing, it's too expensive and there's only one good game out for it (Resistance). I don't think the PS3 is a failure, but the Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii are way, way more marketable. We sell 360's like hot-cakes, and we've sold out of Wii's the same day we put them on sale.

I just called 4 places around me. Here are my results.
Best Buy: Got a 60 and a 20 about 20 minutes before I called, inconclusive. Circuit City: No one was available. Target: None, but I saw a 20 a couple nights ago when I went there. Wal-Mart: "4 or 5"
No Wiis available anywhere.

At the Wal-Mart I work at (*sigh* MY Wal-Mart), we received 8 60GB PS3's last Monday. We still have 3 left. (Sold 7: Five we received, plus 2 returns (failed eBayers).
And our store may or may not receive another Wii until St. Patty's Day.

there's a failed eBayer who has one in the local newspaper here... for $875. I keep meaning to call him up, ask about the $875 PS3 and then laugh.

Haha, as hard as it is for department stores to sell PS3's at the MSRP price, I can't help but laugh at the stupid eBay sellers trying to sell their PS3's for $800+.
