Haha, in like, 2004ish I hit up my friend Jason for his SegaNet CD to try to set mine up online. Unfortunately it was all for nothing because I don't know the previous owner's passwords and such and I could never seem to set up a new account. I was rather crestfallen. Sadly I don't think you can play anything but PSO online anymore, and you have to do some crazy Codebreaker stuff to do it, and use some random guy's server. "shatck's server" or something like that. I think that one space game was still online for a long time until a year or two ago, the one that wasn't Armada? Eh, I never got into the PSO deal. I was more of an arcade game guy. They should've made Shenmue an online game that still works today. *Walks up to Josh* *presses A* ........................................................................Excuse me. Josh: ......................................................................WHAT THE HELL DO YOU WANT?! Greg: ..............................................................................sorry. I'll be going now. At least that way ol' Ryo would be able to find more of those sailors he was looking for.

I probably would have half enjoyed PSO online since it was all like, not the typical fantasy MMORPG (which I hate all of), but I'd probably have tired of it pretty quickly. It all depends I guess.

Do you know where I could find some sailors? What can you tell me about the Four Wu Du? My favorite line from the game was probably "I'm looking for someone who knows something about Chinese people" I don't know why, but that line cracks me up every time I hear it.

You know what would be the perfect way to end an online battle against an opponent for Shenmue? You spend hours and hours training for new techniques. You got everything mastered now. You head for the opponent. And right before the battle, the opponent jumps on a boat and heads off into the sunset, with the words "TO BE CONTINUED...." in the foreground. Then you end up back at your house.

The Jamaican guy in the second game was even funnier, because he'd just wander around and you'd meet him randomly and he's always guess your name and where he saw you.

You know that they should have seriously made? Tokyo Xtreme Racer Online. They were rumored to be devoloping one but I think it came out in Japan only for PC.
I'm probably the only one who ever played this game, but it was awesome. In Japan it was Shutokou Battle and it debuted on the Dreamcast (I have the first one, never could find the highly sought after sequel), the US market renamed them that horrid name.
But they were fun, a free roaming racer in which you drive around and hunt for other racers on the highway, flash your lights at them, and then duel in a race in which winning is detirmined by the distance between the two of you (measured by fighting game lifebars), it sounds odd, but it's awesome.
And it would SO work online. Probably. Just driving around in your awesome arse car you tuned yourself and challenging some dude in Wisconsin or something, and beating him, yeah!
Sorry I went off on a tangent again. Video game/Dreamcast discussion does this to me.

Never played the first one, but I thought Jet Set Radio Future was pretty fun. And I might be alone in this, but I thought Illbleed was a pretty fun game for DC.

That's my favorite one. It's basically both Dreamcast games combined from what I understand. TXR3 which followed it up was...ok, it had better visuals and deeper tuning/customization options, but it just didn't have the same awesome personality that TXR: 0 had. Right now I'm actually playing Street Supremacy on PSP, which is another Shutokou Battle game someone bought the license to (this time Konami) and changed the name of. It's pretty rad too, a lot different, but still awesome. Ah, TXR 0 though, good times, I remember running around the room so excited the first time I beat Speed King. The sheer number of cars in that game was amazing. Granted, some of them you'd have to look up the chassis code online to detirmine WHAT exactly they were (The RX-7's and Skylines are the easiest to figure out, some of the others though...ehhh). But yeah. Wooo.

Some cheat sites said to let it run in autopilot for over 4 hours or so, so I drove the 1,864 miles myself in the Porsche. Going around and around the highway! WEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Having to have a certain car or certain things on your licence plate and so on and so forth, my favorites being the people who would only show up at certain times of the day/night. Criminy jeeze you drove all that yourself? I remember that and also having to have a certain amount of mileage to get the highest level engine thing. I did the autopilot thing, left it going on a Saturday night or something and woke up Sunday with enough miles for the racing spec engine. It was awwesssooommmeee.
