5. Slay the Princess
Been feeling like doing another run of it for a bit, not a lot to it. Very easy game to just come back to over and over given how stuffed with content it is and how short an individual run can be. Did admittedly kind of lose interest toward the end when I botched the Cage route and just wound up doing a path I'd already done before with it but eh, no huge deal, just need to be sure to do it right next time.

I started this last year but completed it yesterday so I'm counting it.
1. Metaphor: Refantazio I thoroughly enjoyed playing this. The Persona structure where everything is set to a calendar just works so well for telling a story and making a linear RPG feel more open. The story kinda got away from itself by the end but it wouldn't be an Atlus game if it didn't.

Highways climbing down the Alps have fewer twists in them than this game. I’m enjoying it, but it makes me wonder what kind of drugs Atlus passes around to their writers at times. At least I haven’t fought any phallic shaped enemies this time.

1 - SIlent Hill 2 - 10/10
2 - Tamarak Trail - 8/10
It's a good game with a pretty cool concept. So you get customisable dice that you upgrade with new attacks and abilities and that sort of thing. It suffers the same sort of thing that other deckbuilders suffer from in that it is pretty shallow. Once you complete one run, you just pretty much do the same thing again--no new enemies, no new maps etc. The final boss is also very annoying--not in a "that was a good challenge" way but in a "this is f***ing unfair way". Spammming shields to drag it out, multiple forms, one hit KO attack that charges etc.

1. Stella Blade - 7/10. I got this for Christmas and it was just okay. Not the best thing in the world, but a lot better than some friends made it out to be.
2. Minishoot Adventures - 8/10. I love Metroidvanias and this one was a really cool take on that style. I also really appreciated the fact that it was a roughly 5 and a half hour game.

6. Yoshi's Island
Power only just came back on after being out since like midnight of last night so I didn't have a lot else to do but dig into Yoshi's Island. Might try and dig into something new next time, not sure what.

Yes, thankfully no Mara in this one, just some weird human designs that look like the designers cut up a few different toys and smashed them together like Sid in Toy Story.

2. Magical Drop 6
A decent entry into the system, and less bugged than 5 was. Also it appears to have decent translation so that's a bonus.

And the first game I've beaten in 2025 is Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath. A fun twist on the shooter genre, using live critters for ammo. But man, is it frustrating at points.

7. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
Did an absolutely infuriating run of Pyra and Mythra's Classic mode where every single fight the computer was either just running away to tank my score or pulling the, "Read your inputs in such a way as to perfectly nudge you off the edge at the exact distance you can't recover from," bullshit, kind of had to beat my head against a wall for forever just to get through this one. Did get the 9.9 when I ultimately beat it but goddamn I did not enjoy the process getting there, really hate that you can't just select the highest difficulty straight-up in this game and instead have to do this, "Perform well enough to unlock it by the time you reach the end," nonsense because the computer deliberately tries to tank your score and can ruin a whole run in a hurry.

8. Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3
Game was only $6 on Steam and I'd been curious about checking out the game's extensive modding scene so I picked it up and did a run through as the Thing, Sakura, and Leon. Really justifies the purchase I think, all of the characters in the pack I grabbed felt like they were naturally part of the game.

Tomb Raider I-III Remastered.
I played them when originally released, II and III not since, and with the TR IV-VI Remastered set due out in mid-February, I'd been wanting to do these first.
Real A-grade example of a remaster here. The visuals are polished up, hi-res'd, and framerate made butterly smooth. Otherwise, they play the exact same way with the exact same foibles and mechanics. Deeply nostalgic to play again, several sequences and puzzle solutions came back to me. Got used to the tank controls again really quick.
TR1 remains my favourite, beautifully designed. TR2 goes overboard with human enemies, TR3 with obscure puzzles (Aldwych is ridiculous), yet I still enjoyed much of them as well.

Was still working on Assassin's Creed Valhalla but about ready to tap out so I'll say
1. Assassin's Creed: Valhalla The main game is finished. Some of the Asgardian related DLC is left. And the mythology DLC bits in these games tend to lose my interest. Or maybe it's just that they come after the lengthy other bits of the game.

1.) Life is Strange: Double Exposure. The story started getting really "let's throw shit at the wall and see what sticks" towards the end, the DLC wasn't worth the extra money, and I don't know if I want to play through it three or four more times to get the Platinum trophy, but I still enjoyed seeing Max again. And if anything, I liked the game more than I did Life is Strange 2.

I want to play Metaphor but I'm also currently playing FF16, so I'm not entirely sure I want another action game. Kinda wish it was turn based tbh, but if it's good I might give it a shot anyway.

It is turn based! If you've ever played a Persona game before it plays very similar to that. If you find an enemy weaker than your team you can kill it in the field with one or two strikes if you want but the majority of combat is turn based.

For some reason I had the impression it wasn't from watching a few videos. Will definitely check it out. Thanks!

3. Life is Strange 2
Loved it. Probably my favourite LiS game. Was really engaged by Sean and Daniels story and liked the gameplay elements. Not the most pleasent of stories but i like how different it was to previous entries. Will definately replay it at some point and see what else it has to offer.
